Closed for Business 3/3/2011

I recently drove up US 19 in Palm Harbor and noticed that Aunt Chilada's was gone. Not any sign or anything remaining sad to see it gone it was family owned and I knew most of them from the owned to the sons who worked there. It shows how bad the economy is when a well established place like that closes. more

The End Must Be Near 10/10/2010

The first time I visited Aunt Chilada's was over twenty years ago. At the time it was one of my grandmother's favorite restaurants in the area. Since then I have gone, off and on, through periods when the food has been very good and very average. After my most recent visit I won't be back and likely the restaurant won't be around much longer. This time the food was astoundingly bad and the service not much better. All of our meals appeared to have been previously frozen and reheated. Cheese inside enchiladas was cold and hard, steak in the soft tacos was also cool inside. Food cools from the outside in and this was warm on the outside and cool in the middle. We were obviously served old food. The quality of the food was also poor. The empanadas, which were the only hot items, were incredibly greasy. Maybe the fryer wasn't hot enough, or more likely the empanadas were frozen as well. Our server was also out of it. Maybe her meds hadn?t kicked in but she failed to respond to several requests and eventually we had to ask a manager to get more salsa and drink refills. In the end we all felt that paying $50 for the equivalent of supermarket frozen dinners was the death knell for this place we had visited for so many years. No, Aunt Chilada's is now permanently off our dining radar. more

HORRIBLE 2/21/2009

February 20th a group of ten women went out for a nice dinner and salsa dancing, but discovered that they would not be able to join the salsa dancing due to bad service at Aunt Chiladas Cantina. Pros: Not busy Cons: Horrible Service more

Excelente! 5/31/2008

We've been going to Aunt Chilada's for 8 years and love it! The atmosphere is festive and upbeat. We've never had bad service and we highly recommend Florencia to serve you. They have a big selection and the chimichangas, queso blanco, and sangria is fantastic! Make sure you bring your business card, if you want to advertise underneath the glass table tops. Pros: Food quality and selection, atmosphere, and service. Cons: It's on US 19 more
