lucky to get in on short notice. My friend and i loved it here. the wine the food the service. they just don't make restaurants like this anymore where the people actually care about their establishment. i will go back any time i have the opportunity and i will recommend it highly to anyone who will be headed to or near Hoboken. make sure to make reservations. place is small and very popular so you will need them. looking around we could see it was the kind of place frequented by same people. thats when you know food is good because its worth coming back for. Given the atrocioius and classless level of service we recently received at Augustino's, I felt compelled to share my experience with all. \r \r Due to traffic, my boyfriend and I arrived 20 minutes late for our 7pm resi. After calling, they told us we could still have the table but that we had to be done by 8:30pm. The baked clams were drenched in butter-the veal milanese was soo stale it tasted like they had reheated the cutlets from the night before and topped it with fresh salad. After one bottle of wine and our appetizers at 8:10pm, our waitress Sharon informed us that we COULD TAKE OUR TIME AS THEIR NEXT RESERVATION HAD CANCELLED. With that, we ordered another bottle of wine as we finished our dinner. NOT EVEN 5 MINUTES AFTER THEY OPENED OUR SECOND BOTTLE, a waitress came over to us and informed us that they needed the table. Not even 5 minutes after that, Shanon leaned in, banged her hands on the table and said ?you need to get up you need to get up?. WHAT?? DID I REALLY JUST EXPERIENCE THIS IN A PUBLIC RESTAURANT?? Embarrassed &annoyed, I resigned to just get up and leave. My boyfriend stayed behind and had words with Shanon. Granted, he should have just left as well, our disgust with the place at this point was beyond warranted. NOW HERE?S THE BEST PART?a week later, we received an EXTREMLY NASTY AND FOULED LANGUAGE message from Chistine?who claimed to be the owner of the restaurant and the sister of Shanon. We are trying to figure out how to download her message from his voice box and I promise you we will post it shortly. ?Giving us a piece of her mind? as she stated, she went on to say that ?If we see you again, make sure you come on a Thurs/Fri/Saturday, so I know who you are so I can kick you?re a$$?. Clearly the second part of the story from her sister was missing and if I was spiteful enough I would file a harrassment complaint for the call.
