When I begin to plan a party, as soon as the date is confirmed, I get to Atwood's bakery. This is the place to get those sweet treats that everyone will be looking for when they come to my house for a party. Atwood has it all. They are basically a bakery with baker's extrodinaire!!! They make some of the most beautiful cakes you have ever seen. Not only are they pretty but they taste great too. While I'm there, I will pick up some fresh brownies or maybe some petite fours. Atwood's also has handdipped chocolates!!! Think about it, fresh hand dipped chocolate candies. Wow!!! makes my mouth water just to think about it. more

Did you ever think that you could buy dog cookies at a "human" bakery? Here in Alexandria, La. while you are enjoying your favorite bakery item you can purchase a really fresh baked treat for your favorite doggie at home. Fido will appreciate you so much more when you bring hom a fresh baked cookie from Atwood's bakery. Even the pickiest dog in town can't resist the tasty treats from Atwood's Bakery. They look so good and you can buy them in a variety of flavors. I always remember to bring my Isabella a sweet treat from Atwood's whenever I go there. more

Atwood's Bakery for your Wedding Cake 9/12/2006

If you have to have the very best for your wedding, then you have to visit Atwood's Bakery to choose your wedding cake. If you have something very special in mind, want your own design, have to have exactly what you want, then you HAVE to go to Atwood's Bakery. Mark Atwood has been "making memories" for a very long time. You CAN have exactly what you want. He will not give you something that does not suit your taste. Got a special idea in mind for the groom's cake. Just tell Mark. Draw it out or describe it and leave the rest to him. Your cake will be absolutely beautiful. Oh, silly me, I forgot to mention that everyone at your reception will rave about the fresh, delicious, taste of your cake too. more

Atwood's better than ever 5/2/2006

Atwood's new location is better than ever. He now offers soups, salads, and sandwiches along with all of his baked goods. The soups are served in bread bowls! It is delicious. My personal favorite here is the caramel iced cinnamon roll. Every Saturday, they offer free coffee with your purchases. more

gone big time now 4/3/2006

Mark Atwood opened his new location after I moved away, but I imagine its better than ever. I remember his old store, I would get donuts there occasionally.. the cherry rosette cinnamon rolls were my favorites its all artwork to me, I have seen his wedding cakes. and tasted his strawberry pie. he also ships king cakes all over the country, for Mardi gras. maybe this review will rate me getting one shipped to me for free next year...... or maybe a friend will order me one..... but you owe yourself a trip, I have heard the new store is wayyy bettter than the one I remember on Texas Avenue more
