I would recommend this attorney for anyone. He is a very down to earth attorney and won every case I had with him. His office is not one of those snooty offices that turn their nose at you. That's just another reason why I like him, He was very good in the courtroom and helped me win custody of my daughter. He also handled a personal injury case for me 2 years ago and ensured that it went smoothly. more

April 1,2011, I went into the office of Daniel M. Barnes upset and ""Taken for a ride"" and not on his motorcycle either. Was redirected to one of his Minions...Tony Hughes an associate..not even an attorney. We discussed the divorce and he rushed me to sign a non refundable contract and pressured me into calling my bank for full payment amount of $ 2,700.00 up front and had me fax over a list of money in checking and saving accounts! Also did not give me a copy of what I had signed and when I did demand a copy the following Monday it had amounts written in that was not there when I had signed in office and had to sit and wait until his lunch to catch him to tell him about the change from contested to uncontested . I also explained that I had been upset and had no money left in my acount and needed to pay bills, get groceries, and my car was on empty in the parking lot. All he kept saying was"" he ""had to ask Dan ""to return to see if I could get any of the difference back...Well Dan didn't take the cash of 2600.00 Tony took it!. Daniel M Barnes was MIA for a week and I left messages for Tony Hughes everyday ...also unreturned. I finally talked to Tony on the phone after over a week of calling everyday only to be told Daniel will not refund any of the money back . Nasty People work at this office! I suggest going to a real attorney who cares-> Diane Sternlib, she sent my husband and I to a great counselor to help us work on our marriage...and only had to pay 50.00 for a consoltation. She isn't hard up for money like the office of Daniel M. Barnes office is...guess the street being blocked off really hurt them,(LOL) Lesson learned ! Prays on peoples emotions!!! more

This has got to be the worst attorney's office ever! The only thing they have going for them is that their cheaper than the ""good attorney's"". I needed help with a divorce and all I got was empty pockets and a headache. I called many times requesting to speak to my attorney only to be told to leave a message and he'd call me back. I talked to his assistant ""Tony"" who was nice and understanding and seemed to care about my situation until I paid them. I was duked!!! Once My check cleared, I became a distant memory. Nobody would return my calls, keep me informed or even let me know when I had to be in court. My case didn't matter to them. When I complained, Tony told me that THEY would fire ME if I didn't let up. I believe that I should know what's going on with my case!! They ended up settling my case against my will and now I'm tied up in appeals! I have filed a bar complaint and hope this firm closes down before they mess up someone else's life. There is nothing honest about that office! I met Daniel Barnes 1 time and that was when he showed up in court. I didn't even know who he was!! He didn't act on my behalf one bit and acted like he had better places to be. I'm worse off now than I was before hiring them!! They are horrible people and he's a terrible attorney that I wouldn't let represent anyone that I cared about! As far as the down home office.. that place is falling apart! It looks as though he cares as much about his office as he does his clients! The whole place smelled aweful. He lied to me right from the start. Unlike Daniel Barnes & Associates, I am an honest person and that office is an embarassment!! Do not use them!! Not even in an emergency!!! more

Very unprofessional, had us come in on a Saturday while she had her husband and kids at the office. The kids ran around the office while her and her husband argued in front of us and some other clients she had kept waiting. I was in a car wreck with my girlfriend and told to go to a doctor that they do business with to buff up our cases, when we did, we were told that the case wasn't worth anything because of minimal property damage. Leslie Wheeler wouldn't take our phone calls and would never call us back, never met the attorney not one time. I DO NOT recommend this attorney!!!!!! more

I went to Mr. Barnes when I was injured by an 18 wheeler, His office staff helped me to make sure that I got good treatment, they made sure that my property damage was taken care of, and in the end his asssistant called me made sure she had all the bills. I would recommend his office to anyone with a serious injury.\r \r I was hoping that my case would settle sooner but I did not realize that I had to finish with all my doctors before I could settle.\r Pros: They cared about me and my treatment Cons: took longer than I expected more

Unfortunately I have need an attorney several times in my life. Each time I have been fortunate to get Dan Barnes to represent me. He has always been honest and caring. The people who work for him are always concerned, genunine and friendly. And you won't find a more down to earth guy than Mr. Barnes. He's no stuffed shirt, so if you are looking for somoene who tries to look and act like a big time attorney, he's not for you. But if you want someone who treats you right and will get you results, he's the guy. I was shocked at the sad people who wrote bad reviews but then I remembered that even Jesus couldn't please everyone! No one is perfect, but I have never personally met anyone who has anything but good things to say about Mr. Barnes. You'll often see him around town with his daughter who is in a wheelchair and walker. Just say hello and you'll see what I mean. He's just a guy who happens to be a great lawyer, not some over inflated ego. Pros: You won't find a better attorney's office. more

This attorney handled a car wreck for me about a year ago, and is not what they claim to be...his assistant in that dept. will tell you anything to get the case signed up, then nothing happens as it is supposed to. The lady told me to call her cell anytime I had a question or concern, but then would not answer or return my call, her voicemail was always full. The only one that came out ahead in this case was the Attorney...I was left with unpaid bills and alot of headache. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ATTORNEY if you really need someone to fight for you go somewhere else, I will be filing a BAR COMPLAINT, if I ever need an attorney again..It won't be this one for sure. Pros: there aren't any for the client Cons: won't provide service you were promised more

This law office was very helpful until they cashed my check. From that point on they were terrible. I could not get a hold of anyone. My papers were supposed the be served the following week. It then took 3 weeks later of me calling complaining to get someone on the phone. He told me he didn't know why my papers weren't served, and that he would find out and call me back that afternoon. He did not call back at all that day and on into the next week. I finally called the next week, 4 weeks into the process. 3 weeks after the time the papers were said to be served. The papers had still not been served at this point. I told his secretary to tell the lawyer that I was done with there services. The legal assistant called me back and apologized and said it was taking so long because his mom was put in ICU the following week. I said I still do not want to continue with yoru representation. Then the actual lawyer called me, for the first time in the whole process, and tried to get me to reconsider. He told me about the legal assistant's mother being in the hospital. I said this was going on before that. He said well I don't know because I was in Spaing with my daughter. A few days later I went to sign the dismisal papers and get my $1500 refund which I told the lawyer and legal assistnant I was going to do. Neither one of them said I did not qualify for it. The business manager told me NONE of my money would be refunded. Wow which I had $1500 to pay my mortgage because I am a single mom. But guess it is more important to them. They need the money for trips to Spain!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY! Pros: Nice before they cashed the check Cons: Everything else!!!!! more
