My six year old daughter has been attending this dance studio since Sept. 2011. The instructor, Jessica, is a very tempermental and impatient person. She makes it very clear that she aspires to be an academic schoolteacher, but having been a teacher for 21 years myself, she has a long way to go regarding learning how to treat others with respect and dignity-- even if they are young children. She sets a poor example with her lack of patience and constantly giving girls ""strikes"" for not doing exactly what she wants. At the end of class, she gives out candy to those who have not received three strikes. I am fine with rewards for those doing what they are told, when the expectations are clear, however, that is not the case in these situations. Jessica seems to inadvertently call children out for minor things. Aside from the instructor issue, my husband was very unhappy when he took our daughter to the studio and she had to use the restroom. Not only were they out of paper towels, but they did not have toilet paper either. How can you run a dance studio with a two hour class and not have proper sanitary supplies? I tried to contact the owner via phone and left her a message on the machine at the number listed for the dance studio. Needless to say, I have not gotten a reply. Then, I emailed the owner asking if I could have a couple of minutes of her time to discuss some concerns that I had. She did reply with an email stating that she did not have time to call me, but that I could send her my concerns in a subsequent email. In my opinion, that is not good business. We have already paid for the costumes for the 'big production' and that is the reason my daughter is continuing with Attitudz-- But, when that is over, we will definitely be looking for another dance studio-- By the way, I spoke with 6 other mothers this evening that had the same experience with this studio-- Ridiculing dance teacher, dirty conditions, no response from owner. Go figure... Look elsewhere to take your daughter for dance. Good luck!
