Editorial review from Citysearch 8/29/2012

We bought a used Q5 from Mark at Atlanta Luxury Motors to sell to a friend who wanted a black Audi Q5. Mark said the car had no issues and that it was a non smoker. The car arrives and there are multiple cigarette burns in the interior and the entire sunroof shade had been ripped out. The hood had acid rain and major pollution damage all over the hood. After discovering the thousands of dollars worth of damage I called Mark. No answer. I called the store and asked for the owner. They said there is no owner. Hmmmm. I asked for the GM and some guy who was probably the same salesman said ""hello?"" I told him what had happened and that I want to speak to him about discrepancies in the description of the vehicle and its actual condition. He said ""too bad"" and I told him that we would sue him and he said ""screw you."" It's shady used car dealers like this that give all car dealers a bad name. I would urge anyone considering doing business with these shysters to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! They are crooks. Plain and simple. DO NOT BUY HERE! more

Superior Service!! 4/21/2012

I recently just purchased a 2003 Silver BMW M3 from Atlanta Luxury Motors/Platinum and the service I had there was phenominal! The car is in wonderful condition and people even believe me when I say I just bought it brand new! The finance manager, Woodie Slayton, did all he could to give me a finance deal that was within my budget. He walked me through the many different vehicles they have to choose from, and helped me decide which was the best choice. Everybody there had a positive attitude and was willing to help me in any possible way that they could. I would reccommend this company to anybody that needs to buy a used car in the near or distant future. more

DO NOT go this lot! ALM/Platinum Auto Sales Woodstock 4/18/2012

Evidently by the last few posts ALM or now Platinum Used Auto Sales has totally gone downhill. I will warn anyone to stay away from this lot. They take cars with known issues. Sleezy person (who was only there maybe a week) sell them to good unassuming people such as ourselves. they fight us on ""fixing"" the problem (which was a bad transmission discovered THE DAY after we bought it). All of this happened August 2011. They fix it with a rebuilt (with a lousy warranty) and charge us for it after much objection. They had the car at least 3 weeks to fix it. We were told what we owed and we waited to be billed for it HOPING Woody (who we dealt with through the whole process) would ""write off"" in good faith and good practice of business. 8 months later we finally traded the car (which continued to be a money pit) and found out upon trying to get the title that it had a lien on it from ALM! We paid that large bill today so we could get the title. Not ONE bill from this terrible business! STAY AWAY! more

Platinum Used Cars Auto Sales! 4/7/2012

Me and my fiance went and looked at a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. I liked it because it was white with tan leather and had low miles for its age. I guess I will start at the beginning. I went and looked at its physical appearance. All of the silver accents on the door and gear shift were scratched until it was almost gone! The grill had a huge hole in it. When the sales person approached me I mentioned the defects she told me I could spray paint them. I took it for a test drive which was nice. When we returned I decided to see about trying to get it as a last resort if I couldn't find another. They asked me WAY too many questions about my money and requested a lot of personal documents. I have bought 2 cars before and was NEVER asked about these things. While waiting on responses from banks after not providing them with this info the sales person tells me that if I hadn't seen the car online they would sale it to someone for almost $2,000 more. That is really crooked to me. I left told them to call me if they hear anything it was suppose to take an hour. I went 20 miles out of my way to look at another one. I got phone calls the next day from companies trying to finance me (not a platinum auto sales person) and received letters in the mail from chase bank denying me. Here is the funny part and made me write this...Hopefully people will see this and not get ripped off! Platinum Auto- White 05 Chevy Equinox w/ numerous physical defects and 70K miles : almost $11,000 Brandt Auto Brokers- Blue 05 Chevy Equinox w/ no physical defects, he put new tires on it, 70K miles and CHASE BANK financed it: under $10,000. in conclusion...Platinum are a bunch of scumbags that will rip you off and if they don't get what they want out of the deal will not try to help you out with financing. Brandt auto... got on the phone with the banks and fought for us to get the best interest rates and we got a car for almost 3K under market price and he had new tires put on it the morning we picked it up! more

Not as bad as some reviews, but not so great either 2/22/2012

I purchased a 2008 BMW X3 with low miles in January 2012 from ALM. The car itself has been great and the buying experience was actually very positive, which I attribute to my salesperson Jan. There were some post sale issues however. The day after I bought the car, some moron pulled up behind me in a grocery store parking lot and hit my rear bumper while I was in the store, scratching the paint and buckling the bumper a bit. I didn't even notice until I got home. I took the car back to ALM and Jan offered to have thier paint shop repair the damage for $100.00. When I went to pick the car up, it was dark--looked OK in the street lights, but the next day in the sun I realized they had not matched the paint very well and it was a shade darker than the factory metallic silver-gray. Jan offered to re-do it, but it has been a real inconvenience to have to drop the car twice for a job that should have been done right the first time. Also, ALM did not provide me with an emmissions certificate to get my title--had to pay out of pocket for that. I got a good deal on the car ($3K less than a comparable model at CARMAX) and Jan is the man to ask for if you do patronize ALM. more

Scheisters! BUYER BEWARE 2/19/2012

Evidently these lowlifes have changed their name to PLATINUM USED CARS which is on 10915 Highway 92 Woodstock, Georgia 30188. Totally unprofessional. BUYER BEWARE! With check in hand, ready to sign the contract, the owner began calling other interested parties in the car. And then cursed at me when I raised questions. I AM GLAD I DID NOT BUY FROM THESE CHARLATANS. more

THERE SHOULD BE A NEGATIVE SCALE TO RATE THEM 10/24/2011

Honestly the worst experience as a consumer to date.\r \r I dont know where to begin, other than from the first call into them when i saw a good price for a car. I should have realised something was wrong. Was is stolen ? Was is in a crash ? Would it be fixed as they claim ? Was there really nothing in the carfax or was it doctured ? Where was the car a month after paying in full for it ? Why did the mechanic steal the keys ? Why are there 100 additional miles on the vehicle ? Who can you call about this who will actually pick up the phone ? Cade Ekes / Kash Navi / Paul Singh will be names you will wish to avoid if you decide to flip a coin and purchase, rather than heeding advice. When they say review my BBB rating - do so, dont take their word for it !!\r \r I assume at one point in time there will be enough customers to complain to shut the company down, though at the same time, hope that enough customers can avoid becoming ""victims""\r \r Commencing legal proceedings - suggest you avoid, unless you also have a good lawyer more

Horrible Customer Service!! Especially their manager DON! 1/23/2011

We are business owners and we were interested in purchasing a vehicle for our business. I called ALM and thought I received great friendly customer service. He gave me their hours of operation and my husband and I made plans to make the hour commute to the lot before they closed at 6pm on Sunday. We called in just confirm their schedule around 4pm, and the rude person and who was also the one I spoke to on the phone who I thought was friendly and who turned to be the manager, Don, said they were going to close at 5. I said, ""you told me you closed at 6"" and he said, ""He said nothing was going on and they were going to to close early."" Ok, I understand, but what pissed me off was when my husband called back to convince them to stay cause we were already in route and we would be there in 30 min, DON said, ""well you should have planned your trip better"". I called back and I said ""you do understand you are the sales person and we are the customer"", and I also said should we go somewhere else, and he ""you can do whatever you want."" I could not believe how badly we were treated. If the MANAGER treats his potential customers like that, how do you think he would treat is actual customers when they have issues with their vehicles? We are going somewhere else....there is too many cars and other dealerships to be dealing with these losers. more

Stay away = dont waste your time or at least be very careful 3/21/2010

worked out deal via telephone after many questions. Had appointment set up to take car for independent inspection so had the afternoon planned. Car had damage to bumper that was not disclosed on the phone. Very obvious damage. Salesman must have thought I was stupid. When I brought damage to his attention he was shocked..""I did not know that damage was there"" well which is worse lying or being too stupid to notice bumper damage and not telling customer. next Well the damage could have been caused on the lot.. someone could have backed into it The damage was old damage very old damage dirt embedded in the cracks on the bumper. next Well we can fix it response yes you can but why waste my time until it is. very easy answer. They were hoping to sell the car without the damage being discovered. STAY AWAY Pros: hard to get to Cons: try to sell damaged cars more

A great price and a great car 1/27/2010

I bought a 2003 BMW Z4 from Atlanta Luxury Motors at their Roswell location. It was a quick and easy transaction. The salesman was very helpful and not pushy, which was a nice change. The car looked as good as it did online. I have referred two other people there already. Pros: Great car more

The ripped (and pissed) me off. 1/14/2010

Let me tell you my story. Last year i bought a 2006 FX35 with 40000mi for almost $23000. The car was supposed to be under bumper-to-bumper factory warranty (which was 5yrs or 50k miles) After few hours i went to the factory dealer to ask about a spare key (ALM gave me just one key) and i asked ""hey, can you tell me the story of the car as well?"". I gave the Infiniti guy the VIN number and i just remember his face. He called me in the office and told me that the car was not well maintained by the first owner. Basically he never changed oil, causing some mold in the engine. The report showed that the car was taken to Infiniti to have the engine cleaned (at that time, the owner was Atlanta Luxury Motors), i guess to hide the problem. The only way to fix the engine was to get a new one ($15000!!!). I called ALM back and they didn't even want to hear me. I went there and tell the manager that i would have called a lawyer. He replied ""call him"". Well, i called a lawyer and after a month the manager understood that he was going to lose and accepted to trade my car back. Anyway, i spent money and time for the lawyer (but it was worth it!). What bothers me is that the same FX was on sale after a week and someone bought it (poor guy, i hope he reads reviews). They ripped me off. Please read all the other real reviews all over internet and then YOU DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO BUY A CAR FROM THEM OR JUST WISH TO SEE THEM CLOSED! letsclosealm(at)yahoo(dot)com for more info. I'm just saying the thruth. Sorry for my english, i'm european. more

Great cars 12/22/2009

Bought my daughter a 328 for christmas and am very pleased with the transaction. I had shopped at the New BMW dealers and found Atlanta Luxury Motors online with prices that were several thousand less than the new car dealer. Chad Redford was a great help, we did most of the deal by phone and e-mail. I showed up and test drove the 2 cars that I was interested in and made the purchase within one hour. I wish my last purchase had been so easy. I will definately refer my friends and family and will be back soon for a car for my wife.\r Pros: Easy to deal with and very efficient more

Great car Great price 12/8/2009

Purchased an M35 from there last month and I have to say it has been the best car I have ever owned. I got a great deal on the car and it is in excellent condition. The salesman was very helpful and they allowed me to take the car for my own mechanic to inspect it and provided me with a carfax history and Auto check prior to any negotiations. This has been one of the easiest buying experiences ever.\r Pros: best deal I could find anywhere more

I don't say walk away. I say RUN! RUN AWAY! 10/30/2009

Hold your pockets tight and run as far away as you can. Unless you're so confident that you feel like a wolf that can survive among hyenas or you feel damn lucky. You may be enticed with their cheap prices. You may think that you got lucky this time to find such a good deal. But believe me, at least this time there's a very good reason for their cheap prices. If there's something you're not sure about, don't even bother to ask from the salesman. You'll not get an honest answer. Don't believe the BS that they claim to stand behind their car. As soon as your check is cleared, it is now your car and you should stand behind it on your own! The salesman made me believe that the bumper to bumper warranty was still valid for 5 more months. Guess what?! After I paid for the car, I learned that the bumper to bumper warranty had expired 1 month before I got the car. How fool of me that I didn't research it myself? Sure. That's why I'm warning you. Don't even try trusting these people, or you'll pay for it dearly. You give them a chance to deceive you, and they will take it wholeheartedly. I was supposed to receive the title in the mail within two weeks after the purchase. After waiting patiently for a full month and expecting to receive the title in the mail any day, I received the ""Application for the title"" paperwork in the mail only one day before the temp tag was to expire. They had already charged me $500 including the fee for the title and tag, and now I had to apply and pay for the title myself. You can't apply for the title on my behalf? Fine! But how irresponsible you should be to send me the paperwork on the very last day? The owner told me it was pathetic that I wanted to share my experience with you potential buyers on the Internet. It's your decision to show him if it's pathetic or not. By the way, I promised to mention the salesman that I worked with, Chad Redford, to give him the credit for all this mess, and wasting 2 more weeks of my time by pretending that he was working with the owner to take the responsibility for the costs that would be otherwise covered by the warranty. more
