Beautiful spa and a wonderful, relaxing massage! Massage therapist was very respectable and did a great job. The price is definitely great for the level of service at Athena. Only problem was that while in the treatment room you can hear EVERYTHING going on outside, people talking/laughing, doors slamming, cars in the parking lot, etc. If you are looking for quiet while getting your service done this is not the place for you. But if you don’t mind some outside noise then it’s no big deal. Pros: Beautiful spa, cost Cons: Very noisy more

I've been to Athena at least 15 times for massages and eyebrow waxes; the waxes have always been done very well, and the massages have been hit-or-miss. I do like that they show you into the locker room and have you change into one of their cushy robes and give you comfy flip-flops to wear...that's much more relaxing than having to strip out of your close in the massage room! They also have amazing customer service at the reception desk...one time they accidentally deleted my scheduled massage and re-booked it to someone else, so they offered me a free massage on a different day to make up for the inconvenience.\r \r \r One problem I do have with Athena is that their Maryland Farms location abruptly changed names and then closed several months ago with no warning whatsoever! Melissa, who is the best massage therapist on the face of the earth (and it took me forever to find her!), disappeared along with the location and I was very disappointed! You'd think for regular customers (I came at least twice per month for about a year) they'd send us something in the mail telling us about the change. Since I know Athena has my address (they sent me a 15-minutes-free massage card once...great touch!), I think they didn't tell customers about the change b/c they didn't want us following people to different spas. If I had known ahead of time that Athena was about to close, I definitely would've followed Melissa to wherever she is now! No other massage therapist at Athena has been able to compare to her yet when it comes to deep-tissue massage! Pros: Great atmosphere, great little touches (i.e. robes and slippers), good customer service Cons: Closed the Maryland Farms location without telling anyone! more

I was very pleased to find a true destination spa in Nashville. I have traveled quite a bit with my career and have had the chance to visit many great spas, so it was great finding a treasure like Athena in my own city. The staff are genuine and very professional. I received an awesome massage from a well trained therapist named Roy who knows alot about his craft. I also received one of the best facials ever by Shawn Michelle who also knows alot about skin care and helped me understand 'my skin."" I would highly recommend this spa to anyone who is looking for a true destination spa. The facility itself is absolutely beautiful and the pool, whirlpool, and sauna help to make your experience an unforgettable one. more

First of all I have had many spa services over the years and Athena Health Club and Day Spa in Brentwood ,TN more than met my expectations. I went several months ago. It is one of the few where you can be scheduled on Sundays and Mondays and early evenings, besides the regular Tuesday -Saturday hours. The spa is open to males and females but I believe the gym(which is state of the art) and pool area are women only, which is a big plus for me. It is nice because you can also order food in advance, which makes for a very pleasant day especially if you come with a group like I have done. The service providers are very nice and professional. I have had massages with Joni and facials with the woman that works on Sundays ,I think her name is Cindy, she even gave me a courtesy hand and foot service they offer. The experience was very relaxing and nuturing. The spa providers I have had seem to be very knowledgeable about massage and skin care. I have referred some friends from out of town to them(for a fun girls weekend) (within walking distance,there are several places to spend the night)and I will definitely go back. \r The only con was there was a little mix up on the scheduling but the aesthetician worked it out for me. Sometimes they seem a little unorganized or they seem to have a break down in communication, I 'm not sure, but it all got worked out and I have always had a wonderful time there. It is so peaceful I felt like I had been on a mini-vacation! I would highly recommend Athena for a little R&R; when you need a little special attention. \r Call them for a tour and information packet. I am not a member at this time due to my budget. Pros: Ambience, parking , variety of services offered, 98%of staff is very accomodating Cons: sometimes a breakdown in communication with scheduling/ they will make it right, sometimes the steam room is closed down due to a malfunction. more

Athena's is truly a remarkable health and day spa. The entire atmosphere is set up with such tranquility you are literally floating from your arrival to your departure it is a fantasy journey of no kind.\r from the beautifully decorated interior to the aviance of simple elegance and service of excellence.\r \r I have had many massages but my experice with the gentleman whom I like to refers as magic/annointed hands is undeniably the best experience ever. He has such skills that I have yet seen or felt ever. My first trip to Athena was as a gift for being part of a bridal party. Great idea by the way...I love it #1 because of all the ""extras"" you get just for paying for your massage or other treatment. With your purchase you get access to the indoor pool, steam room, and jacuzzi all for women only. There is also an exercise room for your use. The massages are wonderful, too. I have had a couple of different masseurs who have both been great. My favorite is so good that I almost want to keep him a secret so he doesn't get booked up...as a matter of fact, I will! The only issue I've ever had with them is that while you are waiting for your massage in the relaxation area, people talk freely and pretty loudly. It might just be me, but I like my tranquility to remain through pretty much the whole experience. But I love this place and will continue to go. Probably won't pay for a membership, but LOVE the services and recommend it to everyone. Pros: Great massages and extra perks Cons: None really more

I am not a member of Athena, I can't see spending that kind of money for a health club membership. Although, if I could afford it, I would probably do it! It is a great place for massages and spa services in the Brentwood area. I just had a massage with Jessica and she was great! Every massage I've ever had there has been great! My experience at Athena was wonderful to say the least! The trainers, spa staff and front desk are so encouraging and accomodating. Whether I was there as a member to workout or to receive a service for the day, everyone made sure I was attended and taken care of. From personal training to nail services, massages and facials, everyone knows their job well and they don't try to sell, sell, sell. It comforting to find a place that truly cares about the people that come in. Vicky and Barb are wonderful in membership too. They make the place feel like home. more

As a member of the Health Club, I receive discounts on spa services. I already loved the staff at Athena especially Maudi. She is a wonderful personal trainer. Her workouts are so challenging. When I received my first massage, it was from Roy. He gives an excellent sports massage. If you really want to relax and relieve tension, try Collin. I would highly recommend this to anyone living in the area or anyone visiting. Pros: Registered dietician, Personal Trainers, Gorgeous decor more

after checking out every one of it's kind, nothing else can compare. where else can you find a complete fitness area along with an indoor heated pool and all wet area ammenities. you just don't run across this coupled with every skin care service offered by a staff that truly understands the needs of their clients.i'll never go any to any other after finding Athena. oh, forgot to mention it is affordable!!
