At Your Service came to install a dishwasher that we purchased from Sears. The installer was good, and so was his work. However, he needed to make an adjustment to our copper line, that took all of 5 minutes. We were charged $45! That works out to $540 an hour!!! I really think this was ridiculous. If we had known the install price was going to be jacked up, my husband would have installed it himself.
It stated on the receipt that we received, for our $45 charge, that we had previously agreed to any additional fees that the installer needed to charge. Actually, that paper was folded among our receipts and there was a space for our signature, but we never saw, nor signed it.
Also, we had already removed the old dishwasher, and moved it out to the driveway. The charge for that service was included in our original installation agreement. It saved the installer lots of time because he had many other jobs to do that day. That certainly took more than five minutes, so I think the small adjustment to our pipe should have been done at no extra cost, or we should be refunded for the part of the installation process that they didn't have to do.
Pros: Good installation
Cons: Add on costs
