Astoria Veterinary Group

I just saw Dr. Seinsheimer at Astoria Veterinary Group and she was excellent. I had been to 3 other vets with my cat and no one could figure out what was wrong with her. Dr. seinshemer figured out immediately that she had a kidney infection and she is now doing very well. i have also seen dr. sakal there but he is a little abrupt. Dr. seinshemer is really gentle & explains things very well. more

We read reviews on citysearch and decided to take our new puppy to Dr. Kamer. We were more than pleased with him...he is friendly, caring, and sympathetic. There are other doctors in the Astoria vet group who are somewhat abrupt (we later learned) so Dr. Kamer is the way to go. He is also very knowledgeable and not at all money hungry as I know some vets are. So glad we went with him and we try to get him for every appointment but sometimes he's not in the office. He also spoke very lovingly about his own dog! We definitely reccommend Dr. Kamer if you're looking for a vet. more

Without much planning or notice, I took in a 6 month-old pitbull puppy rescue. Not knowing what shots or papers the dog needed (or might've already had!) and not knowing of ANY vets in the area, I looked on citysearch for a local vet, found this site, and made an appointment with Dr. Kamer that same day! I called around and, cost-wise, he's pretty fair. For my puppy's entire first set of shots (and a few heartworm samples), a general check-up, and about twenty treats, it was only about $100. Dr. Kamer was obviously great with my guy, and he was also very helpful, friendly, and honest with me. The waiting room is small, so if your pets aren't so great with other animals (like mine), prepare to wait outside. But I'm very glad I found Dr. Kamer on citysearch! Great work, y'all! If you are not prepared to spend a lot of money do not go to this group. I was a client for many years and recommended many people and they would not put my sick cat to sleep because I owed them money. I no longer recommend them. more

I had a family vet for 20+ years growing up in Boston. It was hard for me to find someone I liked. I have both a cat and a dog. I brought my cat here today and I can not say enough about Dr. Kamer. He was very gentle and affectionate with my cat. He gave good advice and even showed me how to clip her nails on my own. My fiance brought our dog in several weeks ago and had the same great experiences. The staff is friendly and the waiting room and exam rooms are super clean. He is also pretty afforable. You can tell that Dr. Kamer loves animals, he even showed me a picture of his own cat. Pros: kind, animal lover, smart more

I haven't interacted with any of the other vets on staff here, but Dr. Kamer is excellent. He has treated our pit bull mix for the last 14 months. He gives her a thorough examination every time, addresses our current concerns, and follows up on past problems. (He seems to have an excellent memory.) Instead of prescribing the most expensive treatment, he chooses one that is efficient and economical. Bitches love him! (At least ours does.) ive been around vet groups in astoria, and by far i recommend this group. very clean, very supportive of me and my dogs, and very loving to my pets. pricing is satisfactory, but of course everyones pocket book thinks different. im very satisfied and trust the group 100%. other places in astoria should only be so lucky and worthy!
