So im out of work and i needed my wisdom teeth taken out because of the pain. and well my gf kept pushing me so i went to aspen dental because the would use a dental discount plan i got for veterans. which it still cost me well over 2000 dollars to do the procedure. well its almost been a week and i am still in pain. i have talked to othwer dentists and other peoiple i am not suppost to be in this much pain. so i called to see wheat i could do about the pain. they said i have to wait a month unitl my follow up appoitment... i am in soooooooo much pain!!!!!!!!! more

Worst experience ever!!! 1/6/2011

Aspen convinced me that I needed 3 old fillings redone. They were all done incorrectly leading to an infection and root canal, missed work and tons of pain!!!! more

Garbage 1/5/2011

The appointment I made on the web was a waste of time, they told me it wasn't a real appointment, and that they would squeeze me in. The on-line form was no good, had to fill in another at the office.\r The coupon for a free xray was no good. They wanted $100 to examine me so that they could tell me how much between $120 and $300 on top of the $100 for the exam..... more

Hurting from Aspen Dental 9/14/2010

I think Aspen Dental might have broken my jaw. I had a tooth pulled there last Thursday and I am in terrible pain still on Tuesday. I can barely open my mouth. I am going to my doctor tomorrow for x-rays. \r \r It took two dentists and they just kept breaking and digging my tooth. I called the emergency number on Sunday and was told to come in om Monday. They said on Monday that I am fine and do not have any infection. Then why write a prescription for antibiotics. They wanted to charge me over $1200 after insurance to do a deep cleaning (that is not going to happen). They refused to do a regular cleaning.\r \r My sister was going to go to them and I told her not to do it. I wouldn't let them treat my dogs teeth. more

Dont go through what I had to 9/11/2010

I agree that this place is only after the $$$. I urge anyone that has gone or is still going here to seek out a private dentist practice and have your xrays compared. I had gone there several time in the course of a few weeks to have many fillings and cleanings done. I was also one of the many told that I had periodontal disease. I didn't have any reason to not believe them so I had their cleanings and they did the filling they said I needed. Within a years time my fillings all started to fall out and i had a lot of pain in several places. I had never had trouble like this in my life before. I went to a new doctor in a private family practice and he told me that a lot of the work was done incorrectly and that a lot of decay was left under the new fillings causing them to rot further. I was also informed that i had very healthy gums and there is no gum disease at all. As a result I have lost 5 teeth in less than a year. To the supposed person with dental knowledge let me just clarify a more

Please Don't Waste Your Time or Money! 6/3/2010

worst experience ever! I never minded going to the dentist. now on the other hand, after all I've been through with Aspen Dental. It's a long story, gonna make it short.\r I've been to Aspen Dental 7 times now, for the same simple filling. and you know what, they are wanting a number 8.\r My first apt. the dentist was going to fix a filling on the top left and start the process of 2 crowns on the bottom. starting with the filling, he says "Oops!". I'm like hummmm....that doesn't sound so good. after having pain several times, going back and being checked and having this and that done 3x's, (on the same filled tooth) I suggested looking at the before and after x rays. (still wondering if the Oops had something to do with my pain)\r Sure enough, the oops was a chipped tooth. I even asked the office manager, Cindy, if the dentist accidentally chipped my tooth, would he say anything. "OOHHH sure he would".\r the next visit, #4 visit was for the filling the first dentist filled and didn't remov more

Find a real dentist, it's a rip off 4/6/2010

I wish I had looked online before I went to this office. Rotterdam, NY. I just left work drove like a mad woman because I was having dental pain to sit in a chair, and be told by a pipsqueak of a dentist that he can't see anything wrong with my tooth so he'll have to refer me to their specialist. They roped me into that horrible plan from care credit last year. You would think I had learned my lesson. I don't think they are real dentists. Every time you need something done you have to be referred to a specialist or come back. They find all kinds of ways to charge you for things you've never heard of in all the years going to a real dentist. That deep cleaning cost me over $600. Not to mention they told me that the IV anesthesia would be covered by my insurance for extractions and it wasn't. For the love of God people find a real dentist. Don't go to Aspen Dental. It's all a rip off. more

Aspen Dental is a shady place and so is Shawn!! 7/28/2009

I went to Aspen Dental a couple years ago for the cleaning and x-rays I had a coupon for. They would not allow me to get a regular cleaning I wanted and talked me into getting the deep cleaning which cost me over $1000. They put a lot of pressure on me when i told them no I just wanted a regular cleaning. I have never at any dentist previously been told I needed deep cleaning. Aspen Dental is full of crap and just wants to make $$$ and is not at all worried about their patients needs. Shawn who works at the Orange CT location is the one who just went and charged everything onto my care credit account without letting me know. He actually overcharged me $300 and I had to call and complain and get that $$ credited back. Don't go to Aspen, they suck!!!!! more

ACROSS THE BOARD 5/17/2009

The Sign READS: FREE X RAYS & EXAM for new patents. Better check your bill if you signed up for CARE CREDIT. I was charged $170.00 for the FREE Exam and X-Rays and when I called them on it, I was told it was the the patients responsibility to call the Aspen Dental 800 number and REQUEST a credit on their bill. more

A SCAM DENTAL 5/6/2009

I see a tread in all of these "DEEP CLEANINGS", because until today, I was unaware I had periodontal disease!\r \r I went to the Waterbury location, where I went for a simple cleaning. After waiting 25mins over what my appt originally was, I was sent to the back where the hygienist "measured" my teeth. According to this measurements I had periodontal disease which could be EASILY reversed with DEEP ROOT CLEANING! How about that!\r \r The dentist came over, who I saw for maybe 45 seconds total who said I don't have any cavities. He then asked to speak with the hygienist in the back room. After about 2 mins, she had me out of the chair to speak with the "office manager" about what I could do about the cost of this deep cleaning! Again I said, if anything I would just like the cleaning..PLEASE.\r \r I LOVE going to the dentist, but these people made me feel like the scum of the earth. Furthermore, they tried to make it seem like I had some urgent tooth rot situation I was not aware of!\r \r Thi more

service sucks 3/21/2008

service sucks!\r \r alright so called them in 3 weeks before hand, and then they left me a message on thursday asking me to confirm. so i called them back at around 6, and no noe answered. then on Friday, I called them back, and the lady said i have to reschedule. \r \r what the hell... then she started flipping out on me saying that no matter what you do, i can't help you, and you just have to reschedule, and "i can't tell you why dr. lee won't be here monday. "\r \r why do i need this appointment, well they said i had to get my teeth filled, and my dad was like whatever, just get it done, so they did lots of unnecesary drilling, and then filled it.\r \r after the filling of two teeth, they put the stupid crap in between the two teeth so it's like 1 big ass tooth that hurts even when i'm chewing gum, and i can't floss either. havn't been able to eat on the left side for 3 weeks now, and they just cancel my appointment, what the hell is wrong with this place?\r \r \r *should we sue or lets just p more

HORRIBLE! 3/10/2008

They convinced me to have a $5000 procudure that my insurance doesn't cover (although Aspen told me 3 times that they would!) so now I am paying $5000 and the work they did was horrible! more

Disappointed 1/29/2008

I am disappointed with the Farmington Aspen Dental office by the Sports Authority. I specifically scheduled an appointment for a cleaning. I go there and I wait over an hour only to have the dentist look in mouth and poke around with a dental instrument. I'm told to schedule another appointment for cleaning. Apparently the office does not do cleaning on the first visit. The receptionist failed to mention this when I called and specifically made an appointment for a cleaning. \r To top it off they push for unnecessary dental x-rays. I refused and the dentist actually remarked that he could not clean my teeth without them. I do understand the need for annual x-rays but this was just unreal. I've never had dental problems and had x-rays within the last year. It's not like I was going in for oral surgery or something. \r The staff is friendly but so what? It doesn't really mean much since they are lacking in experience and communication skills. \r Also I was set back by the type of set up. I more

Rip off 11/10/2007

My husband went to Aspen Dental because it was on the provider list. They told him he has periodontal disease and want to do work costing over $5000. He has never been told by any other dentist that he has this problem. I wish I would have read these review before I made this appointment. They really just want money from what I've read and my husband has seen. I am cancelling his second appointment. more

How can every patient have the same? 8/24/2007

I went to Aspen because my husband's insurance had them as participants. When I was seen 45 minutes after my appointment, they claim I needed deep cleaning as they called it. Said I needed to remove 2 wisdom teeth that were under my gums...although they were not bothering me. They wanted to pull out one of my other tooth which they said had a cavity that was so damaged it was hitting the nerve. Which that is why I get pain. Then they said I had some what of a gum disease. I was shocked, but scared. I asked how much would it be to fix everything. $4,000 and that was without the 2 wisdom teeth being extracted, because that was oral surgery. more

Do not go!!!!! 6/27/2007

I went to Aspen Dental thinking they are caring people, however they are NOT. It is true they only want your money+ more money+ even more money. I would rather have my dog do work on my teeth before I let Aspen Dental take care of me. I'm just sorry I never read these reviews before going. I most certainly would of NEVER called and made an appointment with them. I now owe money to the credit people they use and did not get all the work done that I needed. The work I did get done was horrible. They made a front partial for me and when I went to get it put in it was not straight. They{Dr. Lipton} thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. HELLO, can you see very well, my front teeth you made me we so not straight I could not believe he thought they were perfect... Please NEVER NEVER go there. more

Beware! 6/21/2007

For those thinking about this office...read this first. This company is only interested in the bottom line. They are not interested in long term patient care or anything resembling competent or quality customer service.\r \r I went to Aspen Dental to have several issues addressed. I had one crown that was loose and needing replacing. At my first appointment the dentist recommended several thousands of dollars of work (apparently all my crowns were "old"). I had insurance which would cover some of the cost. I decided to do the recommended work. The office repeatedly misfiled the claims leading to much confusion over my portion of the bills. It seemed every time I had a problem I was advised to "call the central office" who in turn told me "call the local office". I did this runaround several times. \r \r After a summer of costly procedures on my crowns (several of the crowns they ordered did not fit, and I had to see them several times to get the correct fit), I was inform more

What A Mistake!! 5/31/2007

I had just moved to CT and gotten a new job, I picked aspen dental because they were covered by my insurance. I went in to get an exam and schedule for a cleaning. I have never had a cavity in my life and never had any trouble with my gums. I had gone to a different dentist about 4 months earlier who told me I had no cavities and my teeth were fine. When I went in to aspen they told me I had 7 cavities and needed a periodontal cleaning because my gums were so bad, and that I also needed to have my wisdom teeth removed. Some of this was covered through my insurance but I still ended up paying over $1000 out of pocket. Even though I had gone to the other dentist, I didn't want to mess with my mouth, and I figured that if I had cavities that I should get them filled and that if i needed a "deep periodontal cleaning" that I should just do it. So, I got the 7 cavities filled and the "periodontal cleaning" (she didn't even pick the tarter out of my teeth). I went in to have my wis more
