After completing her undergraduate education at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Dr. Asmus attended the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry and received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1990. She is currently an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association and Alameda-Contra Costa Counties Optometric Association. Her license allows her to prescribe glasses, train eye muscle deficiencies, fit contact lenses, comanage laser vision correction and treat various health conditions of the eye, including foreign body removal, allergy, and conjunctivitis. Her education is ongoing with seminars that keep her and her staff up to date with the latest advances in eye care. When she is not working, Paula enjoys golf, mountain biking and spending quality time with her husband, Ron and two sons, Derrick and Alec.
