Best

As far as delivery sushi goes, this place is the best in White Plains! I've tried a few other non-sushi menu items and they have also been excellent. I have never had a bad order ...

Worst

Was disappointed in the quality of food for the price. Won't order from here again.

Great sushi, and it arrived before the estimated delivery time! We weren't as thrilled with the pad thai, but overall, it was great. more

Perfectly Fine 6/26/2010

""Nope, it's not a massage parlor"" my friend informed me when setting up a dinner meeting at this restaurant. Asian Temptation is located in the heart of the White Plains business district, diagonally across from the Ritz Carlton. However, because of this central location you will find parking a bit difficult. There was no apparent garage attached to the half-empty mall the restaurant is attached to so be prepared to park off site at a garage or, if you're lucky (and have quarters) on the street. The decor is nice, upscale and contemporary Asian. The hostess was friendly and attentive, and I later found out why. The people I was meeting with are regulars there, they just walked to and sat at their regular table. Apparently there are there at least once/week since their office is just around the corner from the restaurant. It was a muggy evening when I visited, the temperature was warm inside, I would have preferred a much cooler environment to enjoy my meal. ""The usual"" was echoed around the table so who was I to buck the trend? Large Sapporo bullets and Vietnamese salads to start - jicama and napa with peanut dressing, a bit too much jicama in my opinion as it made up more at least 2/3 of my salad. The main course was Asian Grilled Chicken. It was mildly spicy (you can have them alter the spiciness to your liking), in a light yellow (I think) curry sauce, over a bed of baby bok choy. The chicken was nicely grilled (with obvious grill marks on the pieces) and flavored though it was covered with a bit too much sauce which pooled over the bottom of the plate. The bok choy was difficult to eat with chopsticks as they were served whole, too large to eat all at once, especially when dripping in sauce. Now, I am not a messy eater by any means but I unfortunately was splattered by the sauce when attempting to eat vegetables. I wasn't the only one who had the same problem. Two others managed to wear some of the sauce as well. You would think that you wouldn't need to ask for western dining utensils when at an Asian restaurant but in this case, to save on dry cleaning bills, do consider it. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, practicing her English with us and obviously working the friendly angle since we were a table of all men. Perhaps she knew this group from prior visits as well; regardless it's nice to be taken care of when in a restaurant. Desserts - what desserts? As with many Asian restaurants there is little in the dessert department. Ah well, give the cold ""bubble"" teas a try in lieu of the ice cream they offer. I like this restaurant and would definitely come back to explore the other menu items. Pros: Good Asian Food Cons: Lack of Parking in the Area more

not bad for simple asian 8/22/2009

the food here is perfect ""asian"" food for kids. I wouldnt go crazy over it, but its pretty decent for chain like asian food. Pros: simple, no fuss Cons: not innovative more

What a delightful meal! 4/3/2009

They have our favorite vodka for our pre-dinner drink (many places do not). Drinks and food came quickly, even thought the place was fairly full. 9:30 on a Friday night. Trendy, attractive crowd in a pretty setting. I asked the waiter for help in making my selection from 3 strong contenders.. he provided the right information to help me decide. I loved my selection: the Thai seafood casserole. I visited Thailand for a few weeks last year, and this Thai styled dish at Asian Temptation did not disappoint. My companion's grilled lemongrass shrimp was delicious too. It was a late dinner for us, so we didn't order appetizers or dessert. Will do so next time, hopefully soon. Service was pleasant and attentive. The manager came by to check on us shortly after we'd begun enjoying our entrees. Pros: Fresh and tasty, nicely seasoned, attractive ambiance Cons: No cons.. enjoyed the experience more

One of the worst dining experiences of my life. 10/24/2008

I tried to eat dinner at Asian Temptation on 10/23 and the entire experience was terrible. We went in, ordered our food, got our drinks, only for the manager of the restaurant to come to our table and tell us we were not spending enough money to eat there. An $18 minimum per person, which we were a grand total of 10 dollars from reaching. He told us we could order more food or not, regardless we were going to have to pay more to cover the $18 per person. Needless to say, we walked out of the restaurant promising never to return. The manager was not friendly, nor was he willing to work with us. Judging by the amount of clientele in the place, they needed every dollar they could get. They've lost my, and the entire company I work for, business forever. Cons: Not a friendly place. more

Great Pan-Asian foods 7/3/2008

Delicious pan-asian food. Beautiful presentation. Fresh ingredients. Food is cooked to perfection so vegetables are maintain a touch of crispness and not soggy. Staff is always nice but sometimes service can be slow. Interior decorating is dark but hip. Pros: Food Cons: Occasionally slow service more

Fresh raw ingredients with a price to match! 12/21/2007

I'm quite well-versed with Japanese cuisine and I must say this place has very fresh raw fish. The rolls and handrolls are nicely prepared. Portions are decent and fair. Sashimis are above average. Menu has a good selection. The flaming ice cream is a showpiece but watch out for the flame. Great ambience and above average service. This place is not cheap but your guests will be impressed and satisfied. Pros: Fresh ingredients Cons: Price more
