Though we haven't been to an event at the banquet hall, the Ashyana Banquet's restaurant, Shikara, is head and shoulders above any other Indian restaurant in the area (DuPage Co), and believe me, we've tried them all. The menu's not your run-of-the-mill Indian - it has the Korma's, Makhani's, Tikka Masala's, and many vegetarian dishes common to Indian restaurants but also has a significant number dishes that we've never seen at other places. Especially good is the Lamb Dahiwala, one of the best lamb curries we've ever had, and the seemingly simple Malai Chicken, which even our kids love, is never dry, and just melts in your mouth. Their fish curries offer unique Indian regional cuisines. We also love being able to get traditional South Indian dishes (Dosai's with sambhar and chutney) all under the same roof. Prices are moderate, though don't include rice. Portions are also moderate. Service is very good. They have a decent wine selection, which is hard to find at Indian restaurants. Our only gripe so far is that their samosa's are quite small, even if they are only a buck, and their menu has a couple errors with regards to dishes that contain nuts (we have a nut allergy). Also note that the weekend lunchtime buffet is highly recommended!
