I have 20/15 vision now! 6/13/2011

Initially, I was very nervous about a procedure that involved my eyes. After doing some research and finding Dr. Ashraf at the Atlanta Vision Institute, I went in for a consultation, and my nerves turned to excitement. I didn't realize how simple the procedure was, and the fact that Dr. Ashraf has a top-notch facility didn't hurt either. He explained every bit of the process, and I felt like I was in good hands the entire way through. The procedure only took a few minutes, and the results have been life-altering. Before the procedure, I couldn't even drive without my glasses. After the procedure, I have 20/15 vision, which is better than normal. Waking up being able to see, swimming and not having to deal with irritating contacts or glasses in general have made my life so much easier. If you're thinking about lasik, the Atlanta Vision Institute is the best choice that you can make for your eyes! more

Highly recommended! 11/19/2010

Normally do not write reviews but this experience should be shared. Have worn glasses since I was five years old. I had many questions, did the research, and it led me to Dr. Ashraf at the Atlanta Vision Institute. The website (atlanta2020 dot com) is top notch and will answer many of the questions you have, then a no-cost no-pressure consultation with Dr. Ashraf and his team will take care of the rest. They made sure I knew what to expect every step of the way. It is obvious he cares about the outcome of each patient and I can highly recommend this doctor. Dr. Ashraf is one of the elite in his field: Impressive resume including Johns Hopkins, tons of experience (35,000 LASIK procedures, extensive research background, numerous articles published, etc), and unlike some doctors he has people skills (he wants you to be well informed and comfortable during the entire process). If you are worried that you may not qualify the percentage that can be treated successfully has increased quite a bit in the last several years. My prescription prior to surgery was stronger than most: OD was -5.25 -2.25 x 15 and OS was -5.25 -1.50 x 175. Now I see as well as I did with glasses (better than 20/20) and only need glasses to read small print (at 51 years old this was expected). There has been no downside to this decision. Hope this review helps others who are on the fence. In short if you are considering laser vision correction you have found the doctor that will increase the odds of a successful outcome. more

Great LASIK Experience 11/15/2007

My experience at the Atlanta Vision Institute was probably the best experience I have had with any doctor for anything. The friendly staff and the expertise and experience of Dr. Ashraf's was second to none. I did plenty of research on LASIK before making my decision, and the Atlanta Vision Institute was hands down the right choice. Pros: The friendly staff and doctor. Cons: I only need to do LASIK once, so I have to find other doctors for any other problem. more
