Does a small town like Ashland even need it's own daily paper? I think so. If nothing else it serves as an outlet for community response and hopefully it helps to keep people informed about some of the things that are happening around town.
I always turn right to the "letters to the editor", so I guess I read my paper from the middle to the back and then finally the front page. I am probably in the minority, but I care about what my neighbors think. I don't always agree with them (the affluent beggars story comes to mind), but by reading their thoughts I find out a little more about what they think is important and that is always a good thing.
