Wow! Been coming here for over 14 years and it is still the best and safest sushi ever. Luke is a great host and makes ever order by hand, the old fashioned way. The food is consistantly great. Try the ""Phil Roll"" when you go. Luke and I made it together years ago... more

I love Asahi! 5/21/2009

Asahi is my favorite sushi place in Nashville. I am a simple sushi person. I'd rather order spicy tuna and crunchy shrimp than anything with fancy sauce or deep fried on the outside, and Asahi delivers every time. I have also tried the miso soup, which is yummy. The waitresses and sushi chef are very welcoming and kind. I recommend this to anyone who wants a good, fresh sushi dinner! Pros: Consistently Fresh and Tasty, Very friendly staff Cons: Not any that would keep me from going here more

Excellent Sushi 7/30/2007

I'm not sure what's happened since the last reviewer dined here, but I've been here on several occasions and the fish is consistently fresh and well presented. The service is attentive, quick and thorough. The miso soup is quite nice, the tempura is light and correctly cooked, and the cost is comparible to others. All in all, a great West Nashville sushi option. Pros: Fresh fish, attentive service, well done! Cons: Ambiance on par with other small sushi bars. more

Small pieces of sushi, overall the cost of our meal was not equal to the amouth of food that was served, very over priced. The service was below average and they only had three other tables of customers. more

A little high dollar 1/21/2004

I have tried and tried again to like this place, but somehow, I always leave broke and confused. The last time we were in there, we had to order our saki three times, and when it came, it tasted like dishwater. The sushi is below average and the staff, while overly attentive, come of as annoying and not helpful. Oh yea, then you get the bill. more

Luke is one of the nicest guys you will meet and makes some mean sushi. He even has my seven year old eating raw fish. Pros: great food, great menu more

Very Good 8/4/2002

Being new to town, so far, Asahi is a great place for sushi. Everything was fresh and we were able to try different rolls. Wish they had more entrees but understand it's truly a sushi restaurant. Very authentic looking on the inside. Sit at the sushi bar or have your own private table. Everyone very nice and attentive. Parking is lacking because of location. more
