A great neighborhood restaurant and bar 11/23/2007

Recently, A's bought a new big screen tv and have been promoting the bar as a great place to watch football and have some great eats. I do agree! We've lived in Edgewood for 10 years now and A's has only gotten better over time. The staff are friendly and service is very good. Oh, and try their chili nachos. THE BEST NACHOS...EVER!! But, any of their appetizers, salads (I like the A's Special), or entrées are wonderful and worth the money. If you've had bad service in the past, it was probably a fluke. You should stop in and try it again. We visit A's pretty frequently for a beer/drink and appetizer or for dinner. Have always had a wonderful experience. more

A's...more then you imagined 10/1/2007

A's is the first place my wife took me when we were dating. We've gone there with our group of friends of up to 12 people, and it's where I wedding rehersal dinner was held. I'm not sure where people are saying the service is slow or rude. A's is a great "good ol'" service and food restaraunt. I've always felt it had a professional staff and the food is excellent. It's not fast food...so don't expect Dennys or McDonalds. Part of it's charm is the raised half circle booths, the oversized counter seats, and yes, if you want a drink, there's a great bar area. If you want fast food go to McDonalds, if you want snooty waiters go to Seattle, but if you want a charming ol' fashioned restaraunt that serves great food...go to A's! more

I echo, good food, bad service 5/26/2007

It's really too bad that the staff there run so hot and cold. It is really a nice place, with a good environment. Lots of regulars, but management can be very rude and often directs the establishement staff after her shift FROM THE DRINKING SIDE OF THE BAR. There is something very wrong with that. The food is excellent and I recommend it for the ocasional visit, but cozy little watering hole it 'aint. more

Service at A's 10/31/2006

The food is pretty good. But the service is horrible! They are extremely slow and not very friendly. The manager was disgustingly rude. I will never go there again! more

Good food, terrible service 8/17/2005

The food at A's is actually pretty good. Nice steaks, tasty sandwiches and a yummy breakfast selection. But the service is dependable in only one way: It's dependably bad. The interior is very old school -- you'll feel like you're stepping into a 1970s era restaurant. But if you've got lots of time and are hungry, it's not a bad place to get a bite. more
