Dr. McLaughlin received his medical degree from Albany Medical College where he was selected as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his General Surgery residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. After residency, Dr. McLaughlin was stationed at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood as a staff General Surgeon. In addition to his surgical responsibilities Dr. McLaughlin also held the position of the hospitals Trauma Medical Director and was the Chief of General Surgery. He served multiple combat deployments in Afghanistan. Dr. McLaughlin is board certified as a General Surgeon and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Bell County Medical Association. Dr. McLaughlin provides surgical and nonsurgical care for a full spectrum of disorders of the breast, gastrointestinal system, thyroid and parathyroid glands, skin and soft tissues, as well as the liver, pancreas, spleen and gallbladder. He utilizes advanced laparoscopic techniques in addition to traditional surgical methods to treat a wide range of diseases and has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgical procedures. Dr. McLaughlin is a sports and outdoor enthusiast. He spends as much of his free time as possible with his wonderful family enjoying Central Texas.
