Arthur's Pharmacy & Medical

Good: Arthur himself is non judgemental & very compassionate gentleman! I am honored to have had the pleasure of doing business with for over a year now. Because I am on a pain medication and muscle relaxer it is looked down upon, however Arthur has never made me feel bad about myself for this in the slightest! I look forward to dealing with him and only him!. Bad: If you have the misfortune of getting the dark haired pharmacist in the store U are DOOMED! He is the most judgemental,(even though he has no clue what you are suffereing from, you could have just been released from the Hospital for spinal surgery) and this male I''ll call him that for lack of better words, or being crude could give a damb! He is mean, nasty, rude, obnoxious, antogonistic, hateful excuse for a human being & Arthur either tolerates him cause he's a relation or is very hard up for help!. Improvements: Get rid of the rude individual who has the license to be a pharmacist in this state and makes everyone that needs pain medications legitimately feel like a low life!. more

Sorry the previous reviewer had what she felt was a bad experience. My family has been going to Arthur's for many years. First, they compound meds in pill form and make them liquid so our cats can take them. That is a unique service they offer and our vet highly recommended them - we tried it and it worked great. Second, our Mom is 92, does not drive, and is able to have her prescriptions filled and DELIVERED which is yet another wonderful service. She just loves both Arthur (the pharmacist) and Robert (who delivers - they are each other's buddies). This has been a godsend for our family in many ways. They also offer many surgical/medical products you can't find in a chain-store pharmacy. They are the "go to" place for surgical supplies. Arthur is a very warm and friendly guy who is happy to explain your prescriptions to you and happy to special order what you need. It is a very busy and popular place so sometimes patience is a virtue, but it's always worthwhile. I hope they never go out of business!! more

Today I was sent to Arthur's Original Pharmacy & Medical Supply by my Doctor. I was under the impression that this would be a wonderful place and that Arthur is a great guy and Pharmacist. I did not get to interact with Arthur personally even though my Doctor called ahead and spoke with him. When I first walked in I really had to look around for the pharmacy counter, it wasn't too difficult to find but not totally obvious right away either. I walked up to the counter to find the lady on the phone being very rude to the person on the phone and rolling her eyes. She was speaking in a very nasty tone. I know sometimes people can be rude over the phone so I didn't really think much of it at first. Another phone call came in and she took it, she wasn't very nice to that person either. When this woman finally acknowledged me she wasn't really "nasty" but she wasn't kind either, she was very short with me. She yelled through the store for Arthur who never did answer. She became annoyed with me very quickly and I hadn't been anything but nice in the beginning. She asked me a series of questions, one including my drug allergies. I am allergic to quite a few things and due to a medical problem it hurts badly to talk so I asked her if I could just write it down (then saying to her when she looked even more annoyed with me that it hurts to talk), at that point it sounded like she laughed which made me very upset! I told her that I didn't understand why she found that so funny, she told me she didn't think it was funny. The pharmacist that I dealt with wasn't very friendly either and I ended up walking out without one of the things I really need because of this. As a side note, I thought I should also mention that he didn't even come out from the back which forced me to have to yell which was not easy for me to do. I really wish I had my JB cards on me at that point so I could have placed one on the counter before I walked out. Next time I am in the area I think I will make a special trip inside to drop one off. I found this experience to be very unprofessional, uncomfortable and upsetting. When someone comes in who is obviously sick I don't think they should be treated this way! Needless to say, I will not be going to Arthur's for services again and I will be letting my Doctor know how I was treated next time I see him (in a couple of weeks). more
