This is an outstanding shop! Aroush is FANTASTIC and is able to make any piece (I even trust him with my most expensive suit!) and make it fit you perfectly. He is also honest and let's you know what looks best. I will never go anywhere else in Cambridge! more

I have had several things altered here over the course of a few years and have always had a great experience, both in the level of customer service I have received and in the quality of the alterations. Aroush made no secret of the fact that my shirt was too large for my frame and told me it had been a mistake to buy the shirt. (Hey, it wasn't like the store had my size when I bought it.) He clearly thought I was a bit of an idiot... On the other hand, he tailored it perfectly and stayed open late to fit the shirt and alter it for me. When I wore the shirt the next day, a number of people specifically commented on how good the fit was... which was a first. I will be going back to get a couple more shirt tailored. Look... this guy isn't some born and bred mid-western WASP who is going to brighten your day. If you are looking for someone to kiss your butt and make you feel like royalty, don't come here. In fact, find yourself a professional sycophant instead. Your clothes may not fit the way they would if they were tailored by Aroush, but at least the customer service is ""polite"". My family and I have been going here for the past 20 years, the service is always friendly and the tailoring is the best I have found in Cambridge (ive lived here my whole life). The reviewer who complained about the suit fitting and missing the $10 - I was there and gave him change so that he could pay. Aroush and his wife greeted me kindly and obviously there was a miscommunication with this one man. (I am not lying, I remember clearly what happened. The couple brought in a stapled together packet of suit fitting instructions from online, aroush remembered telling them on the phone ahead of time the fee and they came with no money). Despite this unfortunate incident, I highly recommend his services and I think its a pity that people do not appreciate his level of work. I went here to get measured for a suit. The measurements that I needed were taken in about 5-10 minutes. Some of the measurements I needed were deemed ""stupid"" and were not taken. Others were taken inaccurately (my waist size was 2 inches off). After this was done, the gentleman helping me started talking to another customer, ignoring me entirely. I had to ask if we were ""all set,"" at which point he insisted on charging me $10 for taking 8 simple measurements. They didn't accept credit cards (yes, there are still places that don't), and I was $1 short. He then watched as one of his other customers offered me the dollar to meet his arbitrarily assigned fee.\r I found their treatment of customers to be unprofessional. While I was being measured, other people came in and didn't even receive a simple ""I'll be with you in a moment."" They had to wait for the other employee to return to be acknowledged. I can't say anything about the quality of their work, but their customer service deserves the ranking I assigned. Cons: unprofessional and impolite to customers more

I have been coming to Aroush since he opened his very first shop and I lived in the apartment building next door. At this point he has tailored, among other things, my son's first suit, my husband's wedding suit, and a gorgeous Loro Piana men's coat that started looking like an expensive sack and finished looking like a beautiful, elegant garment. He is ""old school"" in the finest sense of the term, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. more

Aroush is a traditional tailor who knows his stuff. If you go in with clothes that don't fit right, he'll tell you what he thinks. He's very proud and if he doesn't think you will be satisfied with the work, he'll tell you. Don't mistake his candor for rudeness. He cares deeply. On another note, he doesn't accept checks or credit cards, so that's a little inconvenient. His work is exceptional! more

Expect the worst in service--although the alterations/cleaning are done promptly and competently, they are RUDE and inconsiderate. Furthermore, they are not above prompting you to ""tip"" above the stated price when an alteration takes more effort than expected--and if you skimp you can get an earful of nasty comments!
