This store has been in business for many year's. They have always been a good place to shop. Many of my friends shop there. They also do allot of business with the public safety sector. I have never had to wade through intoxicated men when entering the store as the previous reviewer had posted. I also have not seen any skinheads working at Vets Surplus. I have bought many boot's from this store and have always been pleased with my purchase. more

you have to wade through the intoxicated men sitting infront of the door. once inside i was greeted by the sound of a vulgar ""skin head"", insulting a fellow employees mother. i asked for assistance with a pair of boots, the ""skin head"" told me he couldn't leave his area to help me. when i finally tracked down the tall, thin guy he was helpful but began telling me about his religion. needless to say i am still in the market for boots. more

I had purchased a U S Army flag at this business. I then found a similar flag at another business but better quality, and better price. Only 2 hours after making my purchase, I tried to return flag for refund. Owner refused refund as per store policy. Owner has a small sign on counter that says "" no refunds "". The only problem is that it is barely visable. The sign is on the left side of counter, but is not visable from the right side ( where I made my purchase ). Owner claimed he could see the sign from anywhere in the store, BUT REFUSED TO ADMIT IT COULD BE READ FROM ANYWHERE IN STORE. Owner also claims on my receipt it clearly states no refunds. This I will admit is true. But I explained to the owner that I only get a receipt AFTER making purchase and by then it`s too late to inform me of store policy. Owner became hostile as did another employee in store, possibly his mother. Owner then began calling me profanities. Among them, the slang word for the female reproductive organ, a--hole, then told me to get the f--- out of the store. I called Lakeland Police, but there was nothing they could do. Thankfully I made my purchase with my check card and my bank refunded the money to my account. The owner probably knows his stuff is overpriced and poor quality so he has a no refund policy. Also, this store is located in a seedy neighborhood with plenty of criminal activity.. I will never step foot in this rip-off joint again. Cons: over priced, poor quality of product more
