Arizona Camera Works

I dropped my Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ150, and it no longer powered up. I tried everywhere in the Phoenix area, (I live in North Phoenix), as well as Panasonic, and no one, including Tempe Camera, would even look at it; they all wanted to send it away, which would cost $250+ and mean that I would have to buy a replacement camera at $500+ for an overseas trip I was about to leave on. Finally, as my last shot, I phoned Arizona Camera Works in Chandler, and spoke with Morris. He said he would be happy to have a look at my camera.\r \r I took it in and was able to speak face-to-face with Morris. Two days later it was fixed for $55, and I had it in time for my big overseas vacation, which saved me hundreds of dollars.\r \r This was a relatively simple repair, but from talking with Morris it seemed clear that he has extensive experience and a methodical problem-solving approach. He will be my first choice in future. more

I've been coming to this store since I was a freshman in high school (10 years ago!) and it's still a great little shop. Has all the BW photography supplies I needed for my photography classes then and now. The staff is great and you won't get a fairer price for a camera repair! more

I took two high def sony video cameras in for cleaning at the end of may before a work trip to taos, where i would be using them extensively. when i came back after a few hours to pick them up, i was told my larger camera, the sony z1u, had a broken pin wheel assembly and it would be too dangerous to clean it in that condition. the owner said he could order the needed parts and with labor it would be about $250. i may have just trusted him to get this done and paid and never have known the truth, but i decided to send it to a trusted friend who repairs cameras at mikes cameras in boulder. imagine my shock when i found out from him there WAS no broken pin wheel assembly and my camera was fine. was it a bad call and honest mistake or was i being consciously ripped off? i dont know, but i would not recommend trusting important camera equipment to this business.. if you have to buy a roll of film, maybe..ps. along with the other review, i would have chose 0 stars if i could have. more

Excellent service. Inexpensive. I dropped my digital camera, Canon Powershot SD550 and a cover on the front of the lens was damaged. I obtained several quotes on line, one from Canon and all were over $100. Arizona Camera Works said they could repair for about $50. They replaced the broken part and the camera works great. Price for repair was $47. Said it would be ready in 4 days and it was ready. more

The ONE time I do not buy "protection plan" from Best Buy, I sure could have used it. My 6 month old 300.00 camera fell while attached to a tripod. Damage minimal but unable to use flash or have the flash even pop up. Fortunately, lens OK. Best Buy wanted 35.00 to send to Canon and the said it would be about $150 maybe more plus about 2 weeks or longer. Aside from a few scratches, camera and pop up flash now work fine. Total cost $79.00. Dropped off at ACW 10:00 a.m. Monday and back in my hands 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in fine working order and in time for Thanksgiving family dinner. more

When my 1 yr old Canon Rebel XTI refused to turn on I was really worried, it's a very expensive camera. I use it for loads of professional pictures, buisness and home. \r I called around but knew this was the place for me when Morris (owner/operator) finished my sentence for me. When I said "" It won't turn on and when I picked it up.."" He said, ""You heard a rattle."" He knew right away what the problem was with out me telling him. Turns out I had 3 loose screws banging around on the inside and several more coming out. He found them all and even replaced one I lost on the outside and made sure they were all epoxied in forever. He gave me a 6 month warranty and did it all in 2 days time!!! AMAZING!! He is super honest and personable!! I trust him and you should too! more

I've used Arizona Camera works for many years and have always received expert and friendly service. I'm a pro photographer who needs to have all equipment in good working order. Morris, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, I recommend him highly! more

wasted my time by driving out to chandler... there has to be better places than that around here?? might as well go over tempe camera from now on....\r \r Take my advice or you too can learn the hard way.. Pros: chandler is nto a busy area, Cons: they were completely un-helpful more

i have always found all the photography supplies that i want at this store. they are available for a very good price also. they always have excellent staff who help you find all the things that you need.all their items are very good quality and they also repair all kinds of cameras and other items. friendly and polite and very reliable. more

We took our mini-dv camcorder here to get repaired after it stopped working. Not only did he give us a much better price than the JVC authorize dealer we had gotten a quote from, but he was able to get it back to us much faster. This is one of the only places I've ever gone where he quoted me one price and actually charged less when I picked it up after repair. The camcorder was as good as new, and he got it back to me in time for our vacation. As I said, great service at a great price. Highly recommended. more

I took a camera in here that I was having a problem with. They were able to look at in and in a matter of a minute or so they knew exactly what the problem was. They helped me fix it right then and did not charge me anything for it. I would go back here and gladly recommend them to anyone. They saved me from potentially buying something I did not need or shelling out the money for a brand new camera when mine really wasnt even broken. more
