I know everyone has had their share of contractor nightmares. Friendly advice, you may want to steer clear of HENRY’S PAINTING for construction work.
1. First he knowingly had an unlicensed electrician (yes you read correct) come to quote us on recessed lighting that for obvious reasons we did not move forward with him.
2. He ordered the wrong cabinet sizes and blamed the cabinet guy. Not to mention, did not have plans for the cabinet installer causing incorrect placement of the new cabinets which still need to be fixed. We are also missing cabinet pieces we paid him for that we had to buy from somewhere else.
3. Henry purchased the incorrect wood and size the custom exhaust fan. He purchased wood flooring. Who buys heavy wood flooring to install on a range hood?
5. He damaged a section of our wood floor from pulling out the stove when drywall was being done. And also put a dent and a few scratches on our 6mth old Bosch dishwasher. Claims it was there.
6. He wants cash payments and doesn’t provide any receipts for anything, even when asked over and over! Even now.
7. Contractors add removal of garbage in their quotes or if not they tell you in advance. He left a mess for us to clean up. (update: at least he took the garbage)
8. He removed our old sink and has no intention to have a plumber install???
9. Henry subcontracts the work out to other people who we have to work with and show where things go. Even though it’s a small kitchen he should be project managing if he subs out work. Right?
11. Now, he refuses to complete the project, leaving us hanging. We overpaid him for incomplete work! He won't return our money for incorrect material and missing material we paid for.
It’s unbelievable and just wrong! If you hear, “You’re going to love it! I’m giving giving you good prices!" RUN!
