Architectural Film Design (AFD), formerly Scott's Custom Glass Tinting, tinted all the windows in my home a few years ago. Then one of my dual pane windows had a gas leak and needed to be replaced, and therefore the new window needed tinting. I called AFD. They said someone would call me back for an appointment. I waited more than 5 weeks and nobody called. So I called again and stated my complaint that no one called to make an appointment. The woman answering the phone asked me if I wanted her to let management know that I had called a second time. I told her I want someone to call me to make an appointment. It's now been an additional week and nobody from AFD has called me back. I guess tinting just one replacement window is too small of a job, so instead of just telling me that, they ignored me. When I called back a third time, I said I just wrote a Yelp review about how I was treated by AFD. The woman said I sounded upset and that she didn't need to hear about it and hung up the phone.
Afterward, the owner called me and apologized and said I had "slipped through the cracks," and someone would call me to set up an appointment.
I received that call, but to my surprise, I was told, "I assume you know that we have a $350 service-call fee that would be in addition to what ever the window tinting charge would be." The cost to have the replacement dual pane window made and installed was less than $350. That is, AFD is willing to apply tint film to one window pane, about 56" x 34", at a cost approx $550, i.e., a $350 service charge plus an estimated $200 to tint the window.
