I know a certain amount of my friends are going to NOT be happy if they see this review, but I'm sorry...I wasn't impressed by this place in my recent interactions with them, nor have I ever been. There used to be a guy that worked there named Joe who was a knowledgable enough guy, but he never acted overly friendly toward me. I figured maybe that was just his personality. Now, after a recent visit, I know it's the snobby atmosphere that festers there. more

Awesome Shop 2/20/2009

I first started playing Magic the Gathering tournements here about a year ago, and I haven't stopped since. I just keep comming back. I love the atmosphere. The owner is an extremely freindly and respectable guy. When I play majic here, I'm able to rid myself of the annoying and overly strict ""professional"" players and just have a fun time playing the game. Pros: Good Selection of Comics and Magic Cards, Fun Atmosphere, Respectable People Cons: Parking Stinks in Downtown Troy... :P more

huge selection and awesome discount 5/17/2008

Aquilonia has been around since the 1980s which definitely makes it a veteran of the industry. It is a seemingly an ?old school? comic shop, but upon closer inspection you can tell it?s evolved with the times. Their selection of new mainstream and indie comics is HUGE, and their back issue library is probably the largest in the Capital District. Plus they have a large amount of trades and graphic novels always in stock. They also cater to RPG players with a selection of cards for sale as well as having in-store tournaments. On top of that their prices are fair and they offer a very nice incentive to subscribe ? what?s not to like? Pros: huge selection, deep discount Cons: no anime/manga or toys/statues more
