I was not impressed by this aquarium. The exhibits were nice and informative and fish well taken care of. I was glad I didn't pay the full admission price. I expected a full aq...

This Place Is A Little Fishy 9/15/2002

Had high hopes for the aquarium due largely to their PR campaign. Was surprised how dinky it was. Many of the displays are amazingly small, so small that only two people can look into them at a time. I'm sure this place looks big and sleek for private parties etc., but in terms of practicality on a busy day it was horrribly designed. There is one restaurant, an utterly forgettable cafeteria, it was like eating at a bus station. Four stars for their advertising, but only 1 1/2 for the place itself. more

A Day With the Fishes 7/1/2002

I took my parents to the aquarium while they were visiting me during the summer. My father is handicapped, and I was impressed with the accessiblity of the exhibits for handicapped people. It made our experience so much more enjoyable because my father could enjoy many of the exhibits. I was amazed at all the exhibits. They were fun yet imformative. We visited during the day, so there were many school kids there. Eventhough it was crowded, we managed to muddle through all the exhibits throughout the morning and afternoon. We had lunch at the cafe, and I must say lunch there was very good. The food was excellent, and there was plenty of eatting places - indoors and outside. more

Take the Behind the Scenes Tour 6/13/2002

Great family experience. I took my mother, on Mothers Day and we went of the Behind the Scenes tour, it was fantastic. The Behind the Scenes was absolutely worth the extra cost. Really enjoyed feeding the fish. Pros: Very Clean, Very Comfortable, Whoelsome Fun more

Sea Dragon Central 5/19/2002

The displays are breathtaking. The variety of plant and animal life are stunning. The educational value is through the roof. Word of advice: Go on a weekday after 2pm. You can walk right up to any of the displays without having to wait behind a crowd of tourists or school groups. I saw things here that I'd never seen in another aquarium such as sea dragons and spider crabs. The tanks are enormous and beautifully executed. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is wonderful, but it can't hold a candle to this place. Pros: Educational Value, Gorgeous Facilites, Unusual Animals Cons: Potentially Crowded more

Small but cool. 5/19/2002

This is a fun place to go to walk around for the day, but it's not that big of an aquarium. You can see most everything within a few hours. As most places, the food and gifts are overpriced, but the staff there is very well informed on all the species there, and they all seem to really enjoy their jobs. I liked going, and plan on returning. Parking is within easy access of the aquarium, but expensive - something like $10. more

Cool, but crowded 5/15/2002

The displays and showcases here are nothing less than stunning, especially the jellyfish displays. But the only problem is when it gets crowded, it's nearly impossible to wedge yourself in front of a display tank. So go during the week (the earlier the better), and enjoy. more
