Look at the fishies! 8/17/2005

The Long Beach Aquarium is a must for all of Southern Cali people. The place can get pretty crowded with children during weekend afternoons but its worth it. There are lots of aquatic life forms to look at and different sea animals to see. The aquarium is very clean and well kept. There is also a bird exhibit where you can touch and feed the fish. Also there is a shark exhibit where you can touch the sharks and stingrays. more

A fun filled journey throug the pacific 8/14/2005

The Long BEach Aquarium is a fun-filled adventure that kids enjoy and adults will also find very facinating. They have some exotic fish and gigantic exhibits of the ocean. It's probably one of the largest and nicest aquariums. It is a safe enviornment for kids to play in. The price is average for this kind of place and kids can play for an entire day without getting bored, there's just so much to do! more

A good place to spend Saturday morning 8/12/2005

If you like fish, then this is a place for you. The aquarium is a non-profit organization. There are plenty of fishes from different parts of the world, crabs, and jelly fishes. They also have a big octopus and some rare fishers. Each fish habitat is well constructed. These people really care about the fish. Then go outside and play and pet the sting rays (they stingers are removed) and sharks. You can even watch a live feeding of the animals. Then there is a bird habitat where you can buy nectar and feed them. Just hold the cup and the little birdie flies right up to you! There is a handwashing station for clean up. Right now, they have this promotion with whales. I did not get this, I thought it was a whale show or movie but it is a big model whale and some kiosks. There is a 3D honda theater which has a separate cost. I say skip this commercial because it took me a while to adjust to the 3D glasses. I think they are perfect if you have kooky eyes. Use the money instead to buy some nectar for the birds. Parking is free in the garage next to the aquarium as long as you show your "guide book." This is a good place for kids and they will learn something and have fun using the "whale passport stamps." There is a chilli's not far from the aquarium so you can get something to eat before you leave. Look for deals to save on admission. There is a 2 for 1 in the Entertainment book. What I like most about the place was that it wasn't a tourist trap like the Monterey Aquarium up north. more

Excellent newly renovated aquarium 8/12/2005

This has to be one of the best aquariums my family and I have visited in a very long time. The exhibits are detailed, the animals look happy, and there is plenty of interaction with the visitors. I have some great photos of my little one petting sharks with her Dad, checking out the sea turtles in the outdoor tanks, and just enjoying the day together as a family. We really enjoyed the balance of indoor/outdoor exhibits and had a wonderful time here. more

Bring the Kids 8/10/2005

I love the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific! I stumbled on this place on accident, and boy am I glad I did. The aquarium has had some tough times lately, but it should be checked out. If you're fascinated by undersea life, or just enjoy a relaxing walk that can transport you away from the craziness of the Los Angeles area, the Aquarium of the Pacific is the place for you. Check out the big tank, spend at least a half hour, and you'll be amazed at what you see. Close to dozens of restaurants if you want to make a night of it, or are there on a date. more

Amazing Sea Life 8/10/2005

The exhibits are organized by the area of the earth the fish are found. There are amazing fish that I have never seen before. Most of the viewing areas are huge and easy to view. There is a Shark exhibit where you can pet Tiger Sharks and a Lorkeet exhibit where you can feed nectar to the birds. Sometimes there are cultural events such as the Polynesian exhibit where they showcased dancing, cuisine, art and even crafts for children. more

Long Beach Aquarium 8/6/2005

The Long Beach Aquarium is a wonderful one of a kind place to visit with your children. The fish exhibitsare outstanding and the programing is really unique. It's an entire day out......and filled with adventure. They do accept the AAA discount for ten percent off. I loved the jellyfish exhibit, and the new whale show is really cool as well. more

Fish!!! 8/4/2005

Aquarium of the Pacific is a very big place where you can find some of the most amazing fish in the world. There is a "pool" with different kinds of sharks and sting rays that you can touch. They have water shows with dolphins and whales. They have a couple of restaurants not very many but enough to get a bite to eat. It is not expensive and you enjoy a full day out with the family. more

Nice place to spend the day 8/1/2005

This one of the most beautiful aquariums I have ever visited. The displays of seal life are at perfect eye levels for both children and adults. They have such colorful fish both small and large. In the outdoor area, you can actually touch stingrays and anemones. They also have a fun sea lion show. Plus they have a great gift shop. Across the street is the parking garage and restaurants which makes it very convenient. If you plan on visiting more than twice a year, it's worth to buy the annual pass. more
