6 months and still waiting on the repair 6/13/2011

This is my second experience with Appliance Rescue. For the same ice maker. First time took 6 weeks to get the part. That repair lasted 6 months. In December 2010 I called to get the ice maker repaired a second time. Tech came out, and even brought a Christmas decoration. Said it looked like the same problem but would need to discuss with another tech the part to order. Would come back out and install once the part came in. Didn't hear from them for several months and called back in March 2011. Took most of the day for them to figure out that no part had been ordered back in December. They were apologetic and said that the part was being ordered that day, and that they would call me when it got in. End of school year with the kids etc, finally call them back today to wonder where my part is. Again, most of the day to figure out what was happening. It turns out that a part still has not been ordered, because they still dont know what is wrong. A different tech needs to come out and look at it before they can order anything and fix it. So I am exactly where I was 6 months ago. No ice maker and no one with any idea what is wrong. This is of course after being lied to by the office staff about parts being ordered in March and December. If it wasn't a warranty repair I would simply tell them to pound sand and find a company that can actually fix my ice maker. Instead, now I have to take another afternoon off of work to watch a second tech look inside and tell me its broken. Then wait another unknown number of weeks for a part, before taking a third day off to finally, maybe get it repaired. At this rate I am hoping to have nice in time for Christmas this year. more

one year warranty.. dang 3/7/2010

I had my front loading washer repaired maybe 5 times. Each time I called a company out it cost me extra money. That's why when I saw this waived service fee and a warranty I was like ""come on really'? But it's all in the paperwork. At east I know in the next year I wont' be paying for the same repair twice. Pros: the warranty more

appliance gods 3/7/2010

I must of had them here for the entire two hours. I made sure to pay two service calls. By the end of the week I had 3 of my appliances repaired that I had neglected for a while. But i was tired of buying ice, going to the laundromat, and making microwavable meals. Pros: there isn't an appliance they don't know Cons: my regular tech wasn't avail more

Rad 3/7/2010

I usually do my own repairs but appliances for the most apart allude me. I called ARS out to repair my ice maker. The technician must have repaired plenty of these because he knew the exact problem and was done within an hour. Didn't even give me a hard time about looking at my range. Pros: on time Cons: didn't have a magnet more

funny commercials keep you comign back 3/6/2010

I always call these guys out. And if I can't get them that day or when my schedule permits I wait. I've tried other companies and I have to say I've been satisfied over and over with Appliance Rescue. Pros: very resonable service call more

cheapest service call 2/23/2010

Had my choice of times even one on Saturday. When they got here they were very familiar with the noise my dryer was making. Wasn't costly at all. They also warned me of a possible fire hazard in my duct, which they cleaned and saved me another call. Cool company, funny ads. Pros: way cheap Cons: no sunday repairs more

Use This Company 2/23/2010

I was delighted to get an appointment the same day and not a 6 hours window but a 2 hour one. The tech was clean, and friendly and knew his stuff. I didn't have a repair done but the money I spent to find out what was wrong with my oven was priceless. There was a faulty mechanism.. he explained everything but I forgot, all I know is it was dangerous. Had to buy a new one, but I feel confident I made the right choice. Pros: worth every penny more

Complete Incompetency or Much Worse 6/23/2008

Appliance Rescue diagnosed my 4-yr old KitchenAid dishwasher problem as needing a new Pump & Motor Assy (part under warrantee) and wanted to charge $159.00 for labor to replace it. I shopped around and found an honest licensed repair service that would install the Pump & Motor Assy for &89.95 but when he came out, he immediately diagnosed the real problem which took 5 seconds to fix: there was a little gunk in the drain air gap. I called Appliance Rescue to complain and to see if the company wanted to make whole their egregious mistake but they would do nothing. I have placed a formal complaint with the organization that starts with a B to expose this company for what it really is: completely incompetent, no customer service, and possibly much worse. If I had hired them to replace the part, they would have done so and I (nor KitchenAid) would have ever known the real problem and we would both be out hundreds of dollars while Appliance Rescue profits. Pros: They have an 800 number? Cons: Completely Incompetent and no customer service. more
