Applewood Plumbing & Heating

Recently the hot water flow in our bathtub slowed down to almost a trickle making it just about impossible to take a shower. As our house is 63 years old and I am even older than that, my knee-jerk reaction was to become quite nervous, not knowing what to expect and, of course, expecting the worst. But, I had to do something, so I went to my Dex Directory and found Applewood Plumbing and Heating, called them and set up an appointment for the next day. Well, all my worries had been for nothing. The next day, Adam from Applewood Plumbing and Heating showed up. He was very cheerful and pleasant, was neatly dressed, and made a good first-impression. He later proved to have a great sense of humor as well, which I really appreciated. The effect of this was that some of my anxiety immediately went away. We3 have Moen faucets which are nine years old and they did not come with a cartridge removing tool. Moreover, as there seem to be as many different kinds of faucets as breakfast cereals out there today, there is no universal tool out there as there was 40-50 years ago when I used to tackle some of these repairs around the house myself. And, because of this, Adam was at first not able to remove the cartridge. My anxiety started to return, but Adam, seeing this, smiled and reassured me by explaining that he wasn't going to break anything and that he was going to go to a shop that would have the right tool! When he returned, he easily removed the old cartridge, showed me the debris build-up around it that was clogging it up. He then asked me to turn the water back on and run water through the line (without the cartridge in)so that debris that had been lodged in the pipe behind the faucet would be flushed out. He also had a tool that allowed him to scrape additional debris from the walls of the pipe in the wall leading tho the faucet. Adam then explained that he could replace the old cartridge if I wished, but that there probably was a good chance of there being debris inside the cartridge which he would not be able to get to, and that a better option would be to replace the cartridge. Having complete confidence in Adam, I opted for the new cartridge, and now, thanks to Applewood Plumbing and Heating, we are enjoying wonderful showers! I would like to close by saying that you know that a company that sends as its representative someone of the caliber of Adam to your home has to be a good, dependable company. I will definitely call on them again should the need arise and I heartily recommend them. more

We have all experienced the need for a plumber or electrician, usually during an emergency. I have used Applewood Heating and Plumbing many times for those kind of emergency situations. They respond quickly and their technicians have always been professional and courteous. I replaced my furnace and water heater about five years ago and took bids from several companies. I choose Applewood to complete the work as they were honest about what needed to be done and the work was completed in a timely manner. Not only does customer service give you a call before the technician arrives, but upon their departure, a customer service representative gives you a follow up call to make sure you were satisfied.\r more

I called Applewood to do regular maintenance on my 10 year old air conditioner after the original company that had installed the unit went out of business, in addition to the next company that I had used, and the one after that as well. \r \r The tech showed me what he was finding as he went through the steps of the process and it wasn't hard to come to the conclusion that the prior companies I had used to perform the maintenance had not done an adequate job. I am confident in the operation of the unit now and will call them again next year. The technician was clean, courteous and prompt as well. more

I give Applewood 5 plus stars! The representatives are punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. We have had them work on heating, airconditioning, and give advice about insulation, plumbing and electricity. Everything works better when Applewood has been here! Also, you speak to a person when you call the company. I can't say enough good about Applewood. more

Using Applewood for the 15 years I have lived in this house has been a pleasure. They know me, they know which serviceman to send depending upon the issue because our heating system is boiler, baseboard heat. The servicemen are all efficient workers who check everything. They discuss options with you and the company backs the work, though I have never had a recurring problem after they have been here. Every call has been almost an immediate response and I would not recommend anyone else. more

I was expecting company at any minute when I decided to give my kids a bath.......no hot water! I immediately called Applewood Heating and Plumbing. My new water heater was installed and ready to go by 10am the next morning. They were fantastic! They showed up on time and were very professional. The area where the water had leaked out was cleaned up and the old tank disposed of properly. Overall, it was a hassle-free experience and I would use them again, they were fantastic! I recommend this company, without hesitation. have had Applewood Plumbing and Heating at my home three times in the past year. Twice I needed plumbing work... a toilet replacement and disposal fix. The toilet replacement was fast and efficient. I was given guidance as to what to buy and what features I should look for. Once I purchased the toilet, the technician returned to my home (no additional visit fee), replaced the toilet and took the old toilet. The work done was neat and efficient plus THEY CAME ON TIME!\r The disposal was clogged and they fixed it very well. Again, they were on time and the work was fairly priced.\r I had my air conditioning system and furnace checked on the third visit. I was confident that the inspection was done well. more

Applewood Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electric has provided excellent service for my home for several years. I have always been able to get a technician the day I call for service. Technicians are polite, neat, efficient and highly skilled. They are careful to assess what is needed before providing a bid. They explain the problem and proposed solution in terms I can understand. They anwer questions and offer suggestions to help make an informed decision. I have been completed satsified with work done on furnace, electrical upgrades and new hot water heater. The technicians leave the work sites clean. I would highly recommend this company to friends and family. more

Beside very friendly and speedy service (we have needed help both on a weekend and the day before a holiday) they are good and thorough. Often when we have service people to our house they do their thing and then hand me an invoice. The Applewood service man kept in the loop the whole time and really walked us through what happened and what to do to prevent it next time. This is the first time I have taken time to write a review, but they deserve it. I have used Applewood many times for differant things and at differant places and they are alway great. They are always on time and so nice. There have been many times that they have saved me money, they give me differant options and never seem pushy. \r \r We were looking into buying a house that was going to need some fix ups. We called them in to look everything over, plumming, heating and electrical. They looked over everything and gave us a list of what needed fix in what order and the cost. They sent over 3 differant guys and each of then spent hours making sure they checked everything out. We will be using them every time we need things fixed. Had service call into Applewood. Wouldn't have called anyone else as they are very professional and awesome. Great service was provided that was done correctly. The products they have are all top notch and do an excellent job. Service is fast and the overall price is excellent. I wouldn't look elsewhere to do the work, and you shouldn't as well. Applewood Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electric responded to my call within 24 hours by providing a skilled technician to fix an issue I had with an improper electrical box. Since I was selling my house I needed to have it repaired immediately. The technician answered all my questions and provided me with a quote on the spot so I could decide to proceed with the work. The rate was reasonable and the job was completed quickly. The technician was courteous, informative and conscious of the fact that I was selling my house and took extra precautions not to bring dirt into the house. \r \r I would certainly recommend Applewood to any of my friends and if I have a need in my new house I will surely give them a call. more

We have been with Applewood for 8 years and the owners prior to us were also Gold members. Applewood has always been very efficient, ethical in their business dealings, and accurate in what they do. Being a Gold member means that we can call whenever we need assistance and not be overcharged or treated inappropriately. Applewood is one company that we believe is a keeper. \r Last winter my heating unit stopped working for some unknown reason. I called Applewood and they were able to come to my house that day. The guy they sent out was extremely professional and had my heater working within a couple of hours. Pros: Friendly and fast more
