Applebees at Brown and Higley's is my usual choice for lunch. The unlimited soup and salad combo cannot be beaten for value but the pecan-crusted chicken salad is so good I would pay evening prices for it. The lunch atmosphere is relaxed although the staff are still attentive. \r
The evening is more hectic and likely to have many children. The entrees are interesting for a modestly-priced chain. I paticularly like the SouthWestern accents, for example the Tequila Lime chicken and the Fajitas. \r
The staff are generally attentive, although there is some variability. I happen to appreciate the background music which is apparently aimed at my generation (middle-aged) but not the thoughtless ""Mix"" that infests so many chains.\r
Pros: the lunch menu, the music (if you are me), the consistency of chains.\r
Tip: if you are in a hurry get a hightop in the bar area or sit at the bar. The bartender who does the waiting for the whole area is very competent and always pops up at just the right time.
