The Applebee's in Brewer, Maine, is only about two miles from my house. On my visits there, I have found the friendly service to live up to that description.
The menu has a wide variety of choices that will suit almost any dietary preference, from meat and potatoes to vegetarian pasta. One thing I like about Applebee's is that the wait staff can answer any questions about what is in a dish and the kitchen staff is accommodating in making some a little different, like mashed cauliflour if I ask. I find the food tasty and filling, more of the good old American type cuisine than anything else.
Service is usually fast and pleasant. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portions. The most dangerous part of the menu is the dessert section, where even the "low-fat" item qualifies as a diet buster for its heavy dose of calories. I find most of their desserts too sweet (and way too big) for my taste.
It's been a great place for the family to get together and please everyones tastes.
I go to Applebee's about once every two months and I enjoy the meals I have there.
