People's is what we need in this country. I know - as with anything that has a social rather than corporate focus - that it's difficult to make it work. But I also know for a fact that the doctors who work there do so because they care about providing health care, not about getting a big pay check (actually, they frequently have to wait on pay checks, because the clinic doesn't always have the money to get them out on time). They're doing the best they can over there, and what they need is more public support. more

A waste of time 8/16/2005

The People's Community Clinic was theoretically a great idea--to provide free and/or low-cost health care to people without the means to pay for any significant medical expenses. In practice, it's a nightmare. The receptionists are downright rude and will intentionally, actively ignore patients. The doctor that I saw was clearly uninterested in my issue and suggested a course of treatment that was both inappropriate and dangerous. The waiting time is extensive--2 hours at a minimum. The waiting room is crowded and dirty, it is nearly impossible to get an appointment, and they don't accept walk-ins. more

UGGHHH!!! 7/31/2005

This clinic is cheap but you get what you pay for. It is always jam packed with people. They gave me a form to fill out which was in Spanish! Be prepared to wait over an hour even with an appointment. Once they call you back you will wait another 45 minutes. Then the doctor's come in and rush through the appointment. They don't inform you of much unless you ask. more
