Editorial review from Citysearch 12/3/2012

Thank you for saving my vacation\r I've read the other reviews and I don't believe them, especially having met Philip personally during my moment of crisis. I went down to Treasure Island on vacation, with my family, when my car broke down. I was 1300 miles from home and vulnerable. You always worry about being stuck in this exact same scenario and then getting taken to the bank, because your at the mercy of someone else so far from home, and, there is not a lot you can do about it. When I spoke with him he said he could fix my car and get me on my way before my vacation ended. As it turned out it was a wiring harness problem, and, due to supply problems at the dealership, he had to harvest one from a junk car. While I was uncomfortable that it was a used part, the three week delay from the dealership didn't make me feel any better. Anyway, he delivered on his promise and kept his costs very reasonable, and we made it home safely. I am very thankful that I found him. Thank you for saving my vacation.\r more

The owner of local towing company Apex Towing is in trouble with the law again. Philip Decelles was arrested for grand theft. Investigators say he double billed the owner of a truck he towed and also tried to break in and hotwire the ignition. Decelles was also accused of scamming drivers for parking near Tropicana Field. He was cleared in that investigation. During the same month, however, Decelles was arrested for lying to a property owner so he could tow cars from a lot that he didn't have a contract with. In August, U.S. Marshals seized three of his trucks because he didn't pay a settlement from a court case he lost. more

Got Shafted 6/27/2009

I went to a Rays game and parked in a parking lot where they charged me $15.00. The guys had official looking flags and vests on and waiving people into the lot. After the game and concert we went to the parking lot to drive home and APEX Towing had booted our vehicle and told us it would be $50 to take the boot off or they were going to tow my car. There were several other people there that had also paid to park that had been either booted or blocked in by the tow truck. We had ALL paid to park there, but ALL were made to pay $50 to be able to leave the parking lot. There was a sign about 8 spaces down from where we parked stating it was a tow away zone, but this was blocked by the cars that were already parked in front of the sign when we arrived. Although we all tried to explain this to the APEX tow truck driver he refused to let us leave and we ALL ended up paying $50 IN CASH ONLY to the driver. Tell me this is not a SCAM!\r \r Cons: Everything more
