The best place for records 8/21/2005

IF you want to buy CD or records, you should check this place out. This place has basically everything you need for entertaiment. THe place is great, the people are friendly and knowledgable on the old stuff or the new stuff. They even sell some oldies for those people who really love the 80's or earlier times. more

Nice Individual Store 8/14/2005

Lou's Records is a great place to find new music, or old music if that's what you're into. They sell LP's, as well as CD's, in addition to some other music-related merchandise. They have two separate buildings on the lot, one housing the used music and the other with the brand-new stuff. I love perusing the used records for my collection and often find some good ones in good condition, for decent prices. I feel less comfortable in the new music building, like I don't fit in somehow. The clerks are mostly dressed in very "individual" clothing, etc. I just don't feel cool enough, you know? But they're fairly helpful and they do have a great selection. The prices are pretty fair. more

You have not shopped for music if you have not been to Lou's 8/12/2005

Lou's records is the largest independent music store in San Diego. Tower Records and other chains don't even compare to their wide selection. Along with the variety of genres, this location has live performances of local and national acts. Some of the shows will fill up the entire parking lot with music fans. There are to buildings, one with vinyl and one with tapes/CD's. Looking for a Bauhaus album, or Nina Haagen? these guys will have it or will know where to locate it. more

Best Small Music Store 8/9/2005

There is something for everyone at Lou's. The second-hand store is so comprehensive you can find just about anything, heaps of vinyl also! The new releases are well priced compared to 'chain stores' and this great haven of music often has afternoon concerts, showcasing local and international talent. A must-see for music fans of every genre. more

So much to choose from! 8/7/2005

Legendary, Lou's Records has an overwhelming selection of CDs, records, and DVDs. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly, and even have a good sense of humor! It would take days and days to go through their entire catalog, and the prices are fairly reasonable. more

For true Music Fans 7/22/2005

Best buy is pretty good at having many of the new releases but when it comes to the smaller and more up and coming acts, they have nothing on Lou's. There's almost no album you can't find here and the prices are not that much higher than big retailers. There is also a gigantic used section if you want to pay a few bucks cheaper. Unlike best buy, Lou's Records occasionally has instore performances by artists such as Tristan Prettyman and Jack Johnson. more
