I have noticed the mixed reviews for this restaurant but our dinner there was absolutely delicious and well prepared. I felt like I had been served a meal prepared in the home of a family friend just for me. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, checking in with us often to see if we needed anything. My husband and I are light eaters so we shared the flaming cheese appetizer (I can't remember its Greek name) with pita bread which was fresh and chewy. We also shared the Mediterranean chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked with wonderful flavor and juiciness. It did have quite a bit of pepper in the seasoning but I like pepper so that was OK with me. The sauteed veggies were fresh and perfectly cooked to the right crispiness and again the seasonings were so delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes on the side were a very special treat because the potatoes were actually REAL potatoes, hand mashed and with flavorful garlic. The menu is somewhat eclectic as others have mentioned but I will look forward to trying pastas. They also had pizza, sandwiches and other entrees including a pork schnitzel. Like I say, it is an eclectic menu. We will definitely go back for a second try.\r more

Most horrible dining experience ever 9/7/2011

I only give one star - because it makes me put something, I don't believe this place deserves any... \r \r I love to eat. I love to try new places. I was so disappointed in my experience here, I am not sure even how to put this into words... But I will try. \r My boyfriend & I decided to try them out for lunch one day. We walk in & were asked 'where do you want to sit', which I thought was a little strange, but I let that go... We were seated in a booth, and brought water & menus. The server came back to the table to take our orders a few minutes later... I ordered the chicken lunch special, my boyfriend a gyro. We sat... and sat... drank water... finished our water... sat... and sat... I walked to the restroom, and our server was texting, or playing a game on her cell phone @ the front counter, which in itself was pretty tacky. I came out of the restroom... no food, no refills on water... we sat... the cook 'dinged' the bell indicating our lunch was ready. The server didn't put down her phone, finished whatever she was doing, THEN brought our food to us - as she was approaching she said something about it taking longer because the fish takes longer to cook? then she put a plate of fish down in front of me. I said, I ordered the chicken special. She replied with 'people come here special for the fish, I assumed that's what you ordered' nope. \r She then says, well... I can have him put on a chicken breast for you, but it'll take awhile. Whatever you want, it DOES-NOT-MATTER-ONE-BIT-TO-ME. then as if doing me a favor, she says 'well I'll comp you the fish' uh... excuse me? what about the oh, I'm so sorry, let me fix this - nothing...just oh, well... eat the fish - basically... which, I don't eat fish. I ate my vegetables, a bite of the horrible rice, took a few bites of my boyfriends gyro... she came back & said, 'what, you aren't even going to eat it'? really? No, I actually don't like fish, and I don't eat it I replied...and my boyfriend asked for the bill...\r I had a living social certificate - a coupon, if you will... It was a certificate for $20, which well exceeded the amount of the bill - we put it down, and went to leave - I could NOT take any more of this server's attitude... then she says, why don't you save this for another time? I said, no - I don't think I'll be coming back, thank you. then she has the audacity to tell me that I was rude, and basically yells - across the restaurant 'because I made a mistake, you aren't coming back, whatvever - you are just rude'... wow... I asked for a manager, because I am absolutely appalled at how unprofessional she is - and she tells me she's it... wow. so I left, never... ever, ever ever ever will I return. She was absolutely what people should NOT be in the service industry. I feel sorry for the owners of this establishment, to have sunk money into a place, in this economy... to have a horrible staff help to ruin it. I still am so angry every time I think about my experience there. absolutely unbelieveable. p.s. the food that I DID eat, was mediocre at best... so please please - save yourself... try somewhere else! more

Perfect Lunch Spot 8/9/2011

I met a client at Antoni's for a lunch meeting yesterday. I had never eaten there before. I found the atmosphere to be a perfect location for an afternoon lunch meeting. My client and I both immediately felt comfortable with the family dining atmosphere. The service was prompt. As for the food, I will admit that I tend to be a bit of a gyros snob. I thought that the sandwich and Greek salad were excellent. The sandwich meat was tender and flavorful, while the sauce really knocked my socks off. I reviewed their menus as well. The Antoni's regular menu and happy hour menu are complete, well rounded and reasonably priced. Their kid's menu looks perfect for my little girl who tends to be an exceptionally picky eater (she takes after her daddy). I'll definitely be back; probably with my little ones in tow next time. more

YUMMM! 6/1/2011

This place definetely cooks up some awesome greek food. They have TVs at some of the tables for kids and we could hear them speaking Greek in the kitchen--definetely authentic. The location is odd and it is a diner of sorts, but I think they live up to their name of one of the best gyros. I read some reviews the staff wasn't as friendly, but we had a very nice lady wait on us. They also do take out so I may get some lunch to go next week! more
