I was there with a large group celebrating a nephew's birthday. The food was very good. We had quite an assortment.\r
\r
I had Chicken Marsalla. Excellent. Oh, if only they'd had Veal Marsalla also. My Bleu Cheese salad came with plenty of crumpled cheese in it. My side of Pasta was a tad overdone. I like my past al dente.\r
\r
One sis had Veal parmasean. It was a bit thicker than normal & was wonderful.\r
\r
One young man had a salad for dinner. It was huge, crisp, and well done.\r
\r
My other sis had a pasta dish of some sort that was wonderful.\r
\r
My newly wed niece & her new hubby from Chicago thought their meal was great.\r
\r
While we were there two or three on duty Davenport Police Officers came in for supper break. That of course makes everyone feel safe & gave us warm fuzzies.\r
\r
We left after the officers left. As I said it was a large family gathering. Some of the ladies were acosted by pan handlers seeking ""bus fare"" as we left.\r
\r
The cannoli were superb. The only local ones that may be able to beat them are de Alesandro's\r
\r
This restaurant is so new that it is not listed in the telephone books that just came out either under restaurants in the yellow pages, or in the white pages under Antonella's. If dependent upon the food they will do well. If dependent on their location they will wither on the vine & die.\r
\r
The other bad thing is that being downtown they do not have immediate parking. I needed a handicapped parking spot because of knee surgery a few days before. The nearest was half a block away on the corner of Third & Brady..\r
\r
Will we be back? Sure, but next time several of us will be packing in accordance with Iowa's concealed carry law.
