Fantastic experience 3/11/2009

This small restaurant has a wonderful cozy atmosphere from the time you step in the door. The service was great the entire wait staff went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. Our food was fantastic; the Henry IV nearly melts in your mouth and with the artichoke and sauce that complement the steak to perfection. The Pork Normande was moist with an apple wine sauce that was not overly sweet. We would absolutely return to this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quiet dinner with great food and service. Pros: Food, service, ambiance Cons: None experienced more

Best filet we have ever had! 2/3/2009

My husband and I went out to Restaurant Antiquity on a Monday evening. I made reservations a few hours before we went. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. Fabulous!! We both ordered the 8 oz. filet mignon for dinner. It was perfectly cooked to both of our likings. The best we have ever had! The atmosphere was very cozy and intimate. Only complaint is that seating is not very cooperative for an 8 month pregnant woman. But the food was definitely worth it! Pros: Cozy, delicious food, incredible service, great price Cons: Seats are a little small for pregnant women (me) more

Restaurant Antiquity....a true Gem... 10/31/2008

If you have not tried Antiquity I don't know what you're waiting for. My partner and I went there for our 5th year wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed in the least. From start to finish, there wasn't one thing we didn't enjoy!!! Beautiful restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. Pros: everything Cons: none... more

Anniversary Dinner 3/23/2008

Based on previous reviews, I requested table 4 and it did provide a very enjoyable setting for our anniversary dinner. We arrived earlier than our reservation but were seated immediately. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The menu has numerous tempting choices, but we decided on the Chateaubriand for Two. It was perfectly cooked to our liking and was well complemented by the Caymus Cabernet, which was fairly priced. The staff was very attentive and we were asked by 3 different people if everything was to our liking. We had the dessert sampler plate and the chocolate mousse, key lime pie and creme brulee managed to disappear although neither of us had room for them. Our only quibble is that we felt somewhat rushed. Pros: excellent beef Cons: felt rushed more

Far short of expectations 3/18/2008

The description of the choices sounded great--inventive (well, it being NM, everthing had chilis in it) even. The execution stumbled. My French Onion Soup had a thin broth with little flavor (flavor built by several deglazes and yes, that takes time) though I liked the idea of melting the cheese on the crouton and not a slab of cheese all over the crock. The marlin was overcooked but the habanero glaze had promise and I did like the cold chutney. The 6 tiny vegetables were very tasty and cooked perfectly. Did not bother to get coffee or the consolation prize dessert. My waitron was pretty good, however. Not worth a second trip, nor a recommendation to friends. Pros: 6 tiny vegetables Cons: Food was not very good. more

Splendid 2/22/2008

How many great things can be said about this restaurant? It glows in romantic light, the food is expertly prepared, the service goes above and beyond great expectations. If ever there is a place in Albuquerque that is truly remarkable in all categories, this is the one. The whole experience will live in my mind forever. Waitstaff is usually a reclection of management, so whatever is going on here is coming from the top down. Beautiful, romantic, excellence. Try the Louis IV and someone very special to enjoy the elegance of an evening.... you will talk about it for a very long time. Pros: Thumbs up all the way more

One of a Kind 6/23/2006

An exceptional Bistro...not a restaurant...a place to enjoy the atmosphere, the dinning...consistent and above the bar service, individual attention....great bargain for the price and it has been consistent for years under Steve's nurturing hand....simple menu, and great daily specials....tables 4 for 2 and 5 for 4 are special...the wish is for there to be no change...just continued quality and experience.....can be crowded so pick your time...a magic experience............an admirerer Pros: atmosphere, value, service... Cons: none.....pick your time carefully as it can be crowded... more

Fantabulous 3/20/2004

If I were proposing to my wife, and I lived in Albuquerque, I'd go here! Table 4 is your table, for a romantic birthday, anniversary or for propsing. You can't SEE another table in the entire restaurant from there. Table 5 in almost as good; I may not want to sit in some of the other tables that are centrally located in the restaurant for an ultra romantic date, as the restaurant is small and people will likely walk right past you. EVERYTHING we had was spectacular. Pros: romantic x7, intimate, A+ food & wine Cons: , start saving $ now more

Overrated 1/13/2003

While the setting is cute and the service first-rate, the steaks are tiny and the salad gritty. We found the menu overpriced for what you get. Great wine list. Pros: Cute, Attentive staff, Wine list Cons: Food just ok, Overpriced more

fabuloso 12/10/2002

This restaurant really is the best! I have eaten in fine dining establishments in cities such as Austin, Detroit, and NYC, and this is was the best meal my husband and I have ever enjoyed outside our home. The food is wonderful, service is superb, and price is very reasonable. The Oysters Rockefeller are to die for, and the Henry IV is so delectible it is almost sinful. We will definitely be back when we are in NM again. I stronly recommend Antiqity for a fabulous dining experience. Pros: great food, great service, good value more

Warm, romantic atmosphere! 12/5/2002

The food was amazing and the service was beyond compare. The small, cozy 200 year old hacienda provides for the most romantic dinner by candlelight possible. Pros: Ambience, Service, Food more

Mmmmm........ 10/3/2002

This restaurant is very quaint and romantic. I loved the atmosphere and the food. The price is a little high and the selection small but it's beautiful place for a romantic dinner with someone you love. Pros: excellent food, romantic, nice place Cons: price, parking, selection more

Where he Proposed!!!! 8/20/2002

REstaurant Antiquity will always be special to us. My husband proposed to me 9 years ago in their most private romantic booth. The poor waiter kept coming over to take our order and having to walk away because I was crying like a baby. The atmosphere is perfect, the food excellent, the wine selection is wonderful and the staff is just the best. We just had to return for our 2nd anniversary--pregnant with our oldest daughter--another magical night. Nothing about this place is hokey or commercial--it is just lovely. Have the King Henry Filet--divine. Pros: Superb food, Romantic, Quiet, Excellent service more

Hands down the ""best"" restaurant in town. With the atmosphere in Albuquerques' historic Old Town this restaurant has delicious continental cuisine, ambience and excellent service. Don't forget desert. Pros: Great, Great, Great more
