The Scene
"Antique attitude" is what best describes this eclectic shop, according to owner Tom Reynolds. A rustic, friendly store stocked with merchandise for your home, garden or whimsy, the Antique Garden is a cool place to both buy and browse. And you can leave your attitude over on Shaker Square, because there are no snobs here.
The Selection
It's neither an antique store nor a garden, but it does stock any kind of garden accessory imaginable. And if you're looking for a gift, we'll bet the intended doesn't have a teddy bear-shaped soap ($4.50) that's just too cute to lather up. There's distressed painted pine furniture in a variety of shapes, sizes and price ranges; colorful ceramic mushrooms to bring any windowsill's self respect up to par; brightly painted birdhouses ($25, no two are alike); and metal watering cans with citronella candles inside ($13.50): You can use them as planters after chasing the skeeters away.
He's Not for Sale
The most popular guy in the store, Trooper the toy fox terrier, is priceless--and worth a visit, even if you go for no other reason. He's no guard dog, but after meeting him, you'll never again underestimate the ability of an animal to sense when he's the butt of a joke.
