HORRIBLE!!!!
First off, I want to be perfectly clear. I have been going to Anthony's Cleaners for over 6 years. And even though I dont provide them with a lot of business, Im sure over the years all of the people I sent them including my own family - would amount to something.
I would deal with the old man, (who was always nice to me) and on occasion see the son from time to time. I struggle with Hypoglycemia and throughout the years, my weight goes up and down sometimes out of control. It was nice to feel comfortable with a tailor that would take you even on the last minute.
Always professional and explained there would be a rush charge a week in advance. I have no problem with this, because with work or personal events I would have to attend I would try and go through my (sunday best)
Recently my best friend was getting married up at West Point, and I wanted to look the very best I could. Going through my closet I found a classy Stone color Suit the would compliment my dates dress perfectly. But to my surprise the waistline was too small. So I thought to go directly back to the one place I knew and trusted, Anthony's cleaners. upon my arrival, the Son explained there would be a rush charge. This was monday and I needed it for Friday. Just to take out the waist. I will have no problem with the rush charge, of course! I explained.
Friday comes along.... One hour before the wedding, I was running around Because My mother also owns a business and I had to help her pick up something from the distributer. On my way back Ill swing by The cleaners and pick up the pants! - I got there and my pants were never done, they couldn't even find them, so I said to the Father, "ok this is a problem" because I have to drive to West Point and I was afraid we would be late for the ceremony. But I was very professional. And I even helped the old man find my pants. They were on the floor, in the back of the rack. Even with that I explained my situation and he said "Ill do them right now please give me at least half an hour". So I did. And I always enjoyed this man. Such a nice person. I would never disrespect him, who reminded me of my own grandfather.
I come back to the cleaners, the son points at me and says "YOU, Come here" with an attitude "I heard you had a problem" and Im smiling at the old man, as I walk up completely caught off guard. I said "No problem at all I paid for a rush job on monday, its friday and im late for a wedding over an hour away." he walks me to my pants, and says "YOU KNOW THERES ALWAYS A PROBLEM WITH YOU!!!" always at the last minute you need me to do this or that, and I try to make you happy" (might I point out he helped me three of the 20- or 30 times I had anything done there) I couldn't believe this, I was in the wrong? I didn't have time for this BS and had to pick up my pants and get to the wedding, So i said nothing bit my tongue and payed FULL PRICE for the RUSH JOB. Lets not forget about that! Then after all that he said with a sarcastic smirk "take it easy BIG MAN"
I have never been more embarrassed, angry, or plain confused or enraged at any business transaction in my entire life.....Who do you think you are to talk to me like that?! 6 YEARS!!! I have been going there, my mother, and almost everyone who needed alterations, I would send them to this location or the WAYNE location.
My experience was something I will never forget for the rest of my life. And still have a resentment with no idea how to find closure.
If I ever see that man again Ill let him know just how it made me feel, and how in a business you NEVER EVER talk to someone like that!
