As a student I can personally attest to the teacher, "advisor", "principal", owner. Ann Marie has complete emotional investments in her school. And it does not benefit the students. While I was attending her school she put her students through a lot to say the least. One day she would be easy going and relaxed; the next she was dismissive, condescending, egotistical, ignorant, manipulative, deceitful, neurotic, and militant ect. over the most minute details. Unless you were her favorite that week. All this with Adult students (which she constantly referred to as "kids); it was worse than middle school. You just never knew which Miss Ann you were getting. Days were long, and it wasn't uncommon for her to drive someone to crying or picking a fight with a student. She will be the first to tell you she wants harmony but as soon as she will tell you that, she's the one in her office watching the camera waiting to cause a conflict. All the students got along well as long as Miss Ann didn't get involved. A topic of constant debate was dress code. Most schools make it easy, all black. Not Miss Ann. She asked that we wear sneakers, jeans with minimal distress, and a top with no logo or words, or cleavage, or numbers, or a top she just didn't personally care for. Her dress code was subject to change daily. And seemed to only suit her style of minimal effort in an industry based on beauty. It was exhausting. I find it alarming that some reviews are written with so much abhorrence “not only” within an aggressive title but to continue with the use of caps “yelling” in order to address their point throughout a review which frankly has no bearing to a review and or its contents. This is an extremely uncalled-for etiquette, regardless to the selected star rating offered to a business. Readers’ recognized that a review is merely a reviewer’s self written opinion/interpretation of a circumstance which may have transpired between two individuals within a place of business. The severity is made known from “the reviewer’s” point of view. We, the public read as an evaluator and are put into a position to act like a judge who sits before a dispute only taking notice of the plaintiff’s version without the defendant’s account. Unless I, myself observe or did in fact hear a comment or saw an action I would not voice my “caps” personal opinion to make a statement that is only your self-seeking rendition. I’ve been a satisfied customer for several years. I’ve seen, heard firsthand the way Ms Ann teaches and how she treats the public along with the way she aids and enlightens clients with giving complimentary services to clients in need or for students education. I have never met a more educational, thoughtful, sociable, very smart young woman, let alone an elegant business owner. Be the judge, stop in for yourself and enjoy! more

I am shocked at the reviews of AnnMarie's. As a student in her school I first want to address the person that claimed that they went there, rang the bell and had to wait...that would NEVER happen, not on her watch. If AnnMarie herself did not greet you we as students will do so when the bell is rung. If that in FACT did happen we apologize as that is SO NOT the norm. As for her being a lunatic, AnnMarie has a "unique" personality, which makes her who she is. She is colorful in nature, and has a huge heart. I can not fathom her ever saying anything about fat people ESPECIALLY in the clinic. IF she did, she was having an off day for some reason and WE ALL have them, I am sorry that you got a bad opinion of her, as she cares deeply about her school, students and the work we do there..Fortunetly there are SO many clients that come back time after time, I just wish those people would write a review instead of all the negativity... more

It's very a nice school. I have never had to wait very long for a service. The students try really hard to give the best service and Annmarie is a always there to greet you and she checks the student work after each service. Annmarie is a very tiny woman and I can not imagine her making any statement about anyone unless she is teaching them about their hair care. more

So I am looking into going to cosmetology school. I lloked into BOCES but they on't offer the schedule I am looking for, so I called and spoke w/Ann Marie and since at the time I am working she told me to come in on Mon1/19/2009 to talk w/her since I couldn't make the normal orientation and info day. I went the door was open and no one was there. I presses the ring for service button about 10times and waited 20 minutes and nothing. I just felt like she really doesn't care if she gets more students or anything that disturbs her. I was very serious about going to her school now I am gonna commute to Syracuse as they are more receptive and helpful. more

Perhaps the girls we timid to cut your hair the way you actually wanted it because AnnMaries appears to be a ranting loud obnoxious woman who while I was there referenced several "fat" people clichés and well was just being plain insulting. I too will gladly save my money and got to BOCES if for nothing else than to avoid the uneducated slurs and the high pitched nasally voice of AnnMaire. more
