I went to Annandale Family Medicine for a few years between 1998 and 2003, and was happy with their level of service. In 2003 I went in for a physical, just to make sure I was doing OK. They had expanded the office, and I felt more like a cow being passed through a maze with a cashier at the end than a patient being carefully looked after.
About 3 weeks after my physical I received an envelope from Annandale Family Medicine. Inside was a crude photocopy of an article about high cholesterol and a prescription for Lipitor! No doctor called, no discussion about what options I had, not even a request to set up another appointment to discuss things. Both my wife and I were shocked and appauled.
I called and asked for someone to call me back, but nobody ever did.
I have refused to go back ever since. Maybe it was an off-chance mistake, but if those are the kinds of mistakes my medical professionals are going to make, I'm going to take my chances elsewhere.
