very good public library 11/13/2005

There are several branches of Ann Arbor distrcit library. You can reserve DVD or book online, then ask them to have it sent to the branch you want. Very convenient. You can borrow the item for one week, no matter the item is new or not. Not like Blockbuster! They also purchase new DVDs and books very fast. I usually borrow DVDs of TV series from the library. And it's totally free. There is no limit how many items you can check out one time, as long as you can finish seeing within one week. The only drawback is you have to wait for a long time for some hot stuffs. But hey, it's free. more

Numerous branches. Good collection. 9/30/2005

Ann Arbor District libraries have numerous branches around Ann Arbor. You can return your books or DVDs to any branch. Sometimes if you return to University libraries by accident, the University library will help return them back. So, there is no worry about returning library properties. They have good collections of DVDs. You can reserve movie DVDs onlines and choose the branch where you want to pick up. Very convenient more

Great family library 8/16/2005

The Ann Arbor District Library downtown branch is located at 343 S. Fifth avenue, in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. It is across the street from the bus station, making it easy to reach for those without a car. The childrens rooms is excellent, with a wide variety of books, DVDs, videos, computer stations and a large fish tank. Activities abound, such as a tea table, craft stations, legos and a big stuffed gorilla. The friends of the library group hosts a book sale on Saturdays providing thrifty book buyers with their fix for the week. more

More than meets the eye 8/16/2005

This small branch library is located on 2503 Jackson Road, in the Westgate shopping center. It is a bit hidden, next to a sport and swim shop and near a bookstore and Thai restaurant. It is small and will be replaced by a new branch opening near the Oak Valley shopping center a few miles away. Despite its small size, this branch packs a lot in. The childrens area, while small, has a good selection of books, DVDs, tapes and other materials. The adult section, while limited in size, also has a good sized computer area and a good selection of recent books. more
