I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I had the WORST experience there. I stopped in to pick up my cat’s prescription and had my friend’s five-year-old daughter with me. A dog lunged forward and bit her. They’re refusing to tell me, or her parents, if the dog has had its shots or whether or not it has rabies, because it’s “private” information. I love my dog and cat very much, but I refuse to continue to do business with any place that would put the privacy of a dog (mind you, I didn’t even ask the dog’s name) over the well being of a child or the peace of mind of her parents. I was quoted a price via telephone by Dr. Hampel's administrator regarding charges for laser declawing of cat. I made sure that there would be no additional charges in the quoted price (which included 2 overnight stays and pain medication). When we picked up our cat, we were invoiced more than $200 above quoted price. We were being charged for vet exam, IV catheter and fluids, and $75 for antibiotic drops. After challenging the additional charges, and about an hour's wait, the additional charges were substracted from the invoice, but they substituted the $75 drops with 4 amoxicillin pills. We had to pay $10 to have the pills ground and put into a liquid form. They have not contacted us regarding cat's condition. Pros: Clean facility; updating pet's condition after surgery. We live in the South Bay area, and after reading reviews about the Bonita ER Vet Clinic we decided NOT to go there and travel to AMC instead. They were very caring & helpful with our dog & helping us with our financial options to make sure we could pay for our dogs surgery. The entire staff was very concerned & sympothetic to not only our dog but our needs as well. The doctors caring for him have kept us well informed as well. I'm very happy with the care our dog & family are receiving with AMC. I highly recommend them to anyone, even if you have to travel out of your way in the middle of the night.
