Animal Medical Clinic

My Mother & Father have a 11 year old female cat, Star, who had developed hyperthyroidism and they had been having her treated by a local Vet in the Deland area. Unfortunately Star was continuing to decline after being treated by the local vet for over a year. So my husband and I took Star to our vet for a second opinion. Our vet recommended that Star be given the radioactive iodine procedure right away. This type of procedure is only performed by licensed and certified vets who know how to properly do the procedure and have the facilities needed to take care of the cat after the procedure. Our vet recommended us to contact the Animal Medical Clinic in Melbourne as they had another client who had taken their cat to them and had great success with the procedure. \r I called the clinic to make contact with Dr. Godwin and he immediately responded back to me. He was great to deal with, gave me all the necessary information on the procedure and the estimated cost right up front. I must say that they charge a very reasonable price for this procedure compared to others in the Central Florida area. \r My Father and I took Star down the Monday of the following week to Dr. Godwin/Animal Medical Clinic and the procedure was performed the next day. The procedure went perfect and we were called and advised right away that Star had handled the procedure very well and was doing well. Dr. Godwin's excellent staff kept us informed daily on Star's progress. Dr. Godwin and his staff took excellent care of Star while she was there and went to great lengths to keep her comfortable since she had to be isolated after the procedure until her radioactive level came down to an acceptable level. \r It has now been 6 weeks since Star's procedure and we just had her follow up check up with our vet. Her blood tests came back perfect and she is cured! Star is now gaining back weight and doing very well. \r Dr. Godwin and his staff literally saved Star's life and she will now live a normal length cat lifespan. Without their care and compassion I'm afraid we would have lost her within the next 6 months. \r I cannot begin to thank them enough. They saved a member of our family, were wonderful to deal with and just fantastic, caring people. \r I highly recommend them to anyone needing any level of vet service. You won't be disappointed. more

Dr. Godwin and staff are the best with my pets. I have used this office for the past 10 years. He took care of our aged cats and now he cares for our new pups. Very professional in all aspects. more

If your pet needs special bone surgery, a tooth extracted, or other one-time service, this is the place for you. The physicians are absolutely high quality and they have the equipment on-site to do the job. For everyday requirements such as shots, meds, and spay/neuter, stick to an owner/operator business. Otherwise the front office staff will drive you crazy with rules, regulations, and hefty bills. more

They are a good vet office. Very nice, helpful and the drs. seem compenent. But I had to stop taking my animals there due to the prices be more than other vets. I'm not sure I was getting any extra services for my money, but I was sure paying extra cost for the services. Good, but not sure it's worth the extra money. Also, required my cat to eat special food I had to buy from them. It was more expensive then other locations, which I didn't find out till they wouldn't accomodate me and I had to go elsewhere. more
