Animal Kingdom Pet Store

I've never been one to buy a puppy at a store. Oddly enough it's hard to find a basset hound any where. We paid more than we thought, but she is well worth the money. She is so smart, and best of all healthy. Every one has told us she has amazing markings and she is a perfect purebred basset hound. I couldn't ask for more in my dog ( Layla ). Thanks Animal Kingdom. more

Great business. I've never had a bad experience here. This has been my sole pet food supplier for at least two years now. Every employee I've interacted with is helpful and knowledgeable of at least basic pet care and the advantages and disadvantages of the many pet foods they carry. Just as importantly, going to this store is an enjoyable experience. There are all sorts of animals around, the staff seems genuinely happy and eager to help, and their selection of foods, products, accessories and treats is wide, well organized and fun to peruse. I was never a believer in buying a puppy from a pet store, but The Animal Kingdom made me believe! The facility is clean and indeed houses:CUTE PUPPIES. The service was friendly and the owner is really helpful. He has a nice selection of breeds and their cages are maintained well at all times. I went there several times and they were always cleaning which was a good sign compared to other pet stores I visited. I had the fortune of falling in love with a little yorkie puppy who was not of legal age to be sold. He didn't mind when my entourage and I visited her every day until we could take her home. She is growing into a loyal, playful dog, and if I ever want another pet, I'll go to the Animal Kingdom first! more

I love love love coming to this pet store when passing through Pismo Beach. They've got like 8 windows full of different kinds of puppies, and they'll bring them out for you to hold. Last time we were there they even had French bulldogs. This location has other small animal pets like guinea pigs and dwarf rabbits, too (there's another Animal Kingdom in Pismo Beach on Dolliver 5 min away). The staff is always nice and helpful. more

Great selection of animals and pet supplies! My dog likes a very particular brand of food and this is one of the only stores that carries it in our neighborhood. The staff is so friendly too! No complaints! more

I love browsing and walking around this store! They take great care of their animals and they look really happy. I don't have the room in my apartment to buy an animal yet but maybe next year I'll come back to Animal Kingdom! more

I first called to see if they had the type of food I was interested in. The sales lady was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful - so good points there. We then went over and they were even more helpful in person! I explained what we were trying to do and the manager helped us understand the pros and cons of the various types of foods, and how they'll benefit the dog's health. more

They have a wide range of animals for sale. They also sell pet beds and treats. Their prices are great, which is also another reason I go here. If you love your pet, you have to bring them here. more

NEVER, NEVER SPEND YOUR MONEY IN THIS STORE! Yesterday I experienced the ugliest, meanest situation with ""the owner/Adam"" and his chump young man, who refused to give me his name. in the store working behind the counter. After finding a puppy, major consideration, bonding, deciding to go forward adding this puppy to my animal family, I am rudely told as I am paying that the puppy cannot leave the store that day. There was a tiny topical rash on the neck, probably caused from playing with the other puppies, that I mentioned. So the chump calls the owner and I ask to speak to him, when speaking to ""the owner/Adam"" on the phone, offering to take the puppy to the vet right away, having already been told the puppy had to see a vet within five days of purchase, then trying to compromise, said I would take the puppy to their vet and even pay for it....this rude human being said to me ""I think it's best if you don't buy this dog at all"".....who does that? Without any regard to my emotions, the puppy's well being, he makes some angry, ugly, rude judgment....really bad business practices. more
