Animal Hospital of the Rockaways

I had an emergency yesterday with my dog Willie. I carried him into the hospital and everyone sprang into action. They began helping him immediately. The doctor explained everything to me. All I can say is as I am writing this WIllie is sleeping in my lap and doing wonderfully. They are so caring and they really know their medicine. Thank you! more

My dog was not acting right and having just moved into the neighborhood I asked my neighbors and they all recommended the Animal Hospital of the Rockaways. From the sweet receptionists who fit Rocko into the schedule to the very capable assistants with Dr. Rogoff we could not have been treated better. Rocko was examined, he had X-rays and they found the problem immedidately. He required surgery which was performed right there. I was given a tour of the operating area and I was really impressed with the entire place. I am happy to say that he has made a full recovery and is back to his old self. I want to thank everyone at the hospital for all their care and concern. more

I had been going to another animal hospital because the pet store had a deal with the Vet..so there were some reduced charges. As my pet got older I continued to go there for shots. Recenly my pet got really sick..I took his there,,he got a shot and medicine and I took him home.He got worse and worse..I called and someone told me to bring him back for tests. I decided to go by recommendation to the Animal Hosp. of The Rockaways..After a good exam,some blood tests and xrays they quickly found out that my pet had severe pancratitis(not sure how to spell)He was in pain,dehytrated.and I think dying!!.After what I felt was the best care,my pet recovered.I found out later by doing some research that if the tests were done on my pet on the first visit to the other place,he would not of had to suffer and almost I think die.I am so greatful to everyone at the Animal Hospital of the Rockaways. The Dr.even called me two days after I took my pet home to see how he was doing!!By the way the staff at the hospital were also fantastic. more

the first thing I noticed when I entered was how nice the place smelled. My old vet office made me hold my breath. This place is very modern and clean. The doctors explain everything. I feel I understand what is happening and how they are taking care of my adorable new puppy, Jade and my old guy Samson. I am so glad to have listened to my neighbor and tried The Animal Hospital of the Rockaways. I could not be happier with the service and staff. more

My animal has never been sick, so this review does not pertain to quality of care. My reason for writing a less than glowing review is the following. Everytime I go into this office, I get the feeling that their practice is geared toward separating me from my money as quickly as possible. I believe tests, procedures ""check-ups"", and the like are ordered not on the basis of necessity, but rather to pad the bill. I will no longer use this office because I will no longer be taken advantage of. Please remember, that this is my opinion, only. more

I lived in the neighborhood and they came highly recommended by so many locals. When my cat became sick, they diagnosed, operated and were with us through all of it. Courteous and knowledgeable. Now I live 20 miles away and would never go anywhere else. Like I said, I wish they could treat me and my family. I trust them one hundred percent. more

Dr. Whittred is both extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. My poor Lady was near death, and she came home the next day, almost normal. Dr. Whittred couldn't do enough for the pup--she went out to get her some turkey to get her to eat, when that didn't work she went back out for roast beef! She call several times to keep us up to date with Lady's progress. The staff is also competent and friendly. I highly recommend them. My 14 year old dog has never received the excellent care and treatment by any other veterinarians ever! Dr. Rogoff & Dr. Simon make my 40 mile trip well worthwhile. My dog might not be here today if not for the terriffic care, expertise and experience of of these fine Doctors. Their employees, from reception to technichians, are second to none as well. If you have a pet, you could never do them a bigger favor than having them treated at Animal Hospital of The Rockaways! Pros: professional, courteous, best care my dog has ever received more

I have been a client of this hospital since I moved into the area over 20 years ago. I found them to really care about my pets and to follow up on every problem. They even call me at home to make sure everything is going well. I have complete confidence in the Animal Hospital of the Rockaways, its staff and doctors. My cats are treated so well here. They love playing in the cat room and watching the TV when they are staying over. The entire staff is friendly and caring.
