Let's face it. Many of us like our pets 2/6/2012

Let's face it. Many of us like our pets more than our family. And if our pet IS our family.. then it's even more important to know they are well taken care of. On two occasions i had to take my Harry cat after hours for some semi involved problems. AHS's 24/7 service is a God send as emergencies always seem to happen after hours. Everyone there is knowledgeable but also caring. The facility is large and clean and they are well stocked with the medicines and technology to perform their duties. For those interested in super technical descriptions and lots of fancy glowing definitions of all that these people can do... they can. If you're just interested in trusting your pet (of almost any variety) to people who care and will do their best no matter the time or day.. then again, these are the people. I don't want to say that my Harrington is my life but the day i lose Harry is the day i lose part of my soul and I know the AHS people will always do their best to keep him healthy and happy. more

The BEST place you could take your pet! 4/26/2010

Where do I begin? We will forever be grateful for Animal Health Services in saving our beloved cat, Jack. Jack was a victim of the tainted pet food recall and suffered unexplainable liver failure. He is a young cat and went from perfectly healthy to gravely ill. We went to another "chain" vet who only saw dollar signs and wanted to run expensive tests. Both myself and my husband are in the medical field and while we dont treat animals, the systems are similar. The other vet would not listen to us and our thoughts.\r \r I took Jack to AHS on a Friday night around 8pm. Again, the vet there was stumped. Together we all worked together and finally figured out it was the food we were giving Jack. We verified this thru testing the food on our own. AHS doctors and staff are SO supportive, and caring. Everyone goes that extra mile to make sure you are comfortable every step of the way.\r \r We were given 3 options in treating Jack. They all varied of course in price, HOWEVER, the bottom line is, w more

My Dog Can Walk Again. 4/26/2010

Two weeks ago my dog Murray started limping. I took him to Animal Health Services and Dr. Prevatt told me he had a torn ACL that needed surgery to be fixed. After a careful recovery, Murray can walk normally again.\r I would recommend Animal Health Services to anyone that has a limping pet. They also have a nice hospital that is very clean. The staff seemed competent and friendly but most importantly, Murray liked them! more

I wouldn't trust anyone else! 3/25/2010

I have been to other vets but never have I felt like I could trust my precious angel to anyone before I went to Animal Health Services.\r \r The doctors and staff helped me late one night when I had no where else to turn. As my baby was choking I knew I couldn't make it the the closest emergency center (Scottsdale) so I rushed in without an appointment and was helped immediately. I was kept posted the whole time my pet was being treated and was even allowed to sit next to her in their ICU area while she received iv's.\r Before when I had no one to turn to, now I will never turn to anyone else. \r \r THANK-YOU ANIMAL HEALTH SERVICSE!!! Pros: They treat you like family! Cons: Not open 24 horus more

Money Hungry Vets 11/17/2009

I took my dog there, and they botched my dog's surgery after performing thousands of dollars of diagnostics and treatment. A friend of mine suggested I see a surgeon. I didn't even know veterinary surgeons and other specialists existed. If I would have known that the vets at AHS weren't as skilled as other vets, I would have taken my dog elsewhere. I feel these vets are looking out only to pay for their hospital and fancy equipment, without really knowing good medicine. Cons: Doing too much stuff with no expertise more

The most wonderful animal hospital I have ever gone to. 11/12/2009

When my dog was bitten by a rattlesnake, my current vet didn't carry the antivenin that was needed to save Roscoe's life. I called all over the area and was referred to Animal Health Services by another clinic being told that they treat most snake bites in the area since they always have a constant supply of antivenin year round. By this time it was already 7pm and I was worried I couldn't make it in time.\r \r What a relief when I called and was told to come in right away that they were open until 10pm. As I rushed Roscoe over, his face became more and more swollen. Running through the front door in tears, I was immediately greeted by name and a technician helped Roscoe back to begin emergency treatment. He was having a lot of problems breathing.\r \r After Roscoe was stablized, I was allowed to sit by his side during his recovery and the whole time a tech was with us. When my daughter was in the hosptial for an allergic reaction, we had to beg for attention from the nurses! Not the case here.\r \r I can't thank this hospital enough for saving my baby. He is now a regular patient and I will never trust him with any other vet hospital.\r \r THANK-YOU Animal Health Services!!!!!! Pros: Kindest, caring, compassionate service. more

Find another place 9/21/2008

I found Animal Health Services by doing a google search, visited their website, and felt like it would be a great place to take our two new puppies. One of my pups permanent teeth were coming in but the baby teeth had not fallen out yet. So I took him in and we decided that he would have them pulled out the following week. I dropped him off on the day of this surgery and was told he would be ready around 4 that day. I called twice during the day to check on him. Both times I was told that everything was fine. When I showed up to pick up my dog, the vet (Cindy Goldsmith) walk in, wide-eyed, a little nervous, and tells me that my dog had a severe allergic reaction to the pain medicine he was given. He swelled up and they had to give him benadryl. When I asked if he was OK, the reply was, ""Well, he doesn't look like a Sharpei anymore!"" I was absolutely LIVID. I walk out to see my poor swollen little chiweenie and just about lost it. Then I'm paying my over-priced vet bill and the girl at the front, Jennifer, was completely RUDE. I will NEVER take my dogs back to this place. I'm sure there are plenty of other places that aren't as overpriced and offer better customer service and don't treat people as if they are incompetent fools. Pros: Website, office is very clean Cons: The veterinarians, the rude office staff, how badly my dog was treated more
