I found my lost dog! 12/1/2008

I just wanted to post and say how happy I am with this animal hospital. My dog got out Thanksgiving evening and my family has been just sick with worry all weekend. Some lady was nice enough to find my dog and take him to the hospital. The hospital took good care of my dog and exhausted all efforts to find us. Even though my dog was current on shots, we had failed to put the updated rabies tag on him and therefore the phone number associated with it was out of date. The hospital checked all reports of missing dogs that had came in and were able to locate us. The lady that had found him had accidentally hit him with her car so they gave him an anti-inflammatory shot just in case. He is fine and isn't even limping. When I asked the hospital how much I owed for this, they advised me I didn't owe anything, even though they had kept him from Friday evening until Monday afternoon, administered treatment and provided food and shelter. Thank you so much to the hospital and to the wonde more

Sick dog 11/28/2008

This is the 3rd and last time I will ever go to this clinic, again. Took her in on friday after Thanksgiving, they charged me for a holiday rate (it was at 9:30am) (My vet was too busy) and then i waited for 3 hours while others came and went to get treatment for a vomiting dog that had vomited 12 times since 2 am. They wanted 1200 $ (conservative estimate) to keep her over the WEEKEND to give her one injection per day and iv fluids for minor dehydration. SHe had an ear infection making her sick., but they did not check her ears, they wanted to do abd. xrays after the lab work was negative except for a high White Blood cell count. I refused, asked them to go ahead with the antibiotic injection and a nausea injection (which has worked marvelously for previous incidents) and Dr. Jennette said ok, so another hour goes by and the tech comes in with the dog, they gave her Sub cutaneous fluid and said if she was not better to bring her back later. I understood that she recieved the medi more

Dead Hamster 8/4/2008

After previous clinics lied about their ability to treat hamsters, I was referred to this specialized clinic. They were very nice at first, and Dr. Nixon seemed to know what he was talking about. My hamster's pouch was infected and hanging out of her mouth. Dr. Nixon took her to the back and cleaned the wound and pushed it back into her mouth and all seemed well. He gave us some medicine to give her to reduce the infection and swelling and showed us how to administer the meds by giving her her first dose. The total bill was $125.00, which I was ok with paying because I felt she was treated great. After 15 minutes in the car ON the way home, my hamster died. We called the facility back and told Dr. Nixon about what had happened and his only response was, "I'm so sorry. Medicine is like surgery...there are not gurantees!" The place wouldn't even refund the $25.00 for the meds, which I never had teh chance to give her. more

Excellent animal emergency room 3/7/2008

I had to take my dog here at 11pm when she ate a dryer sheet and it got "stuck" trying to make it out the other end. Was it expensive, yes, but late at night when no vet is open it was worth the cost. more

Huge Ripp Off 5/28/2007

I will never go back, original estimate is always short. I have been to them 3 times and the original estimate is always wrong.Expect to spend $400 to $800, they are rude and Dr. Nixon is the worst. CAUTION! more

It's such a comfort having an ER for pets! 5/26/2006

My cat was hospitalized with Dr. Thayer, who shares the office w/this clinic.\r \r I went in after hours and they were more than accommodating in providing me with an update on how my cat was doing and they let me visit with him....really made a great impression!\r \r Prices are reasonable and they seem quite efficient! more
