I took my Poodle there to have his ears checked.His ears were really red. He cleaned the hair out of his ears and cleaned his teeth. By the 4th visit my dogs ear problem was still there. I was out about 2.000 dollars and ears still are not well. Oh by the way. He told me to come get my dog at 6pm. When I went to pick him up he said He had to stay the night. And I was charged for that too. I was not very happy Dr.Carlos Zamora. And you know what it is not really about how much I payed. I love my animal.And my dogs ears are still bad.\r more

The first year I took my 2 dogs there, I was very pleased with the service, the receptionists were very pleasant and the Dr. seemed to really care. Subsequent visits were not good at all (I rescued 2 more dogs so I was there often for a period of time). The new desk girls were rude and unattentive and I never got to see Dr.Zamora, I had to always deal with the techs, which were very nice, but I just felt that my dogs were not important enough to warrant a show from the Dr. himself. But what really put me OFF that clinic was when I took my mild manner, sweet, friendly German Sh/Rottie mix to get stitches for a small cut on his back leg. They were supposed to do it in the morning, they never called so I did, just to find out that they had not done the surgery yet, they would do it the next day. I was not happy about it but it needed to be done. Next day I had to call again and still they had not done a thing. Finally in the afternoon I had to call again and they told me that he was ready. My husband went to pick him up. They asked him to to go to the back and get the dog from the kennel because he would not let anyone get near him..What? this is the friendliest dog ever... well my dog was still very grogy, like they had just performed the surgery. I had to pay extra for 2 days of hospitalization but by far the worst part is that my sweet, friendly dog changed his demenor towards men for a while and he will not let to this day a male Dr. handle him anymore. His new vet is a woman and even then he shows fear/aggresion when I take him to the vet. If he could only tell me what happend that day that changed him so much..... I took my cat there to get her fixed, and the DVM and his assistants took such great care of my Cabella. I wanted to make sure that she was healthy since I found her on the side of the road, and they did just that. It turned out that Cabella had an upper respiratory infection and her white blood count was off, which meant that she could have Kitty Leukemia! I may have spent $800 to get everything done, but you can't put a price on the health of a loved one, and she is all that I have! The receptionist called me every day that Cabella was there and would give me updates on how she was doing; she understood how nervous I was about leaving her over-night. I had them test for the Leukemia because they called me when they received the blood results and saw the number was off. I appreciate everything that they did for my cat, and today Cabella is almost 5 and this vet is the only one that she has been to. Cabella is going to her first Vet while living in Kansas now, but if I were still in Texas, Animal Care is where she would be going! more

If you have won the lotto or just have money to burn, be prepared to commit to a high estimate on your pet--they get you to sign a form before tests are run. Oh...and be sure to CALL THEM--BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT CALL YOU. And if your pet dies in their care--YOU WILL HAVE TO CALL THEM TO LEARN ABOUT IT. NO JOKE--JUST A FACT. Good luck getting to see the VET. I wish I had know beforehand about this place. I hope everyone on the internet reads these reviews. There are other places who will reasonably care for your pet--do the research. I wish I had. I have to give at least a 1 star rating, but a NO STAR rating applies. more

This is the vet you go to when you have nothing else to do with your money--and have LOTS of it. I took my cat in to this clinic, and everytime I turned around, they demanded more money for supplies and services I already paid for. My cat was treated for ringworm, and it cost almost $1,000. I held my tongue until they charged me for services I already paid for and tried to send home supplies I already purchased. I will never go to this clinic again. more

This is an information bulletin posted for all the parents who use Dr. Carlos Zamora for there Veterinarian. BE CAREFUL....That is what I have to say. I have found out that Dr. Zamora let's his unlicensed technicians sedated our pets. He also lets his unlicensed technicians perform surgical procedures and dentals on our pets WITHOUT SUPERVISION. There are also days when Dr. Zamora doesn't come into the office at all. He has his technicians call him when cases come in and he plays doctor over the phone. Which means there are days when you could have walked in the office and he would have not been there. Kind of scary huh? After doing some research I have found out that LICENSED technicians are allowed to assist with these things but none of his technicians are licensed. This letter is sent with the intention of educating everyone who reads this email. Be careful when taking your pets to see Dr. Carlos Zamora at the Animal Care Clinic of Dickinson. I know that after all this I will be going somewhere else, if I had only found out sooner I would have never gone there. more
