Well, where do I start? I don't want to bore you with a short story of how it led to disaster, so allow me to get to the point. the woman's name is, Linda Longo, a very incompetent volunteer worker at the Animal Care Associates shelter who handles the adoption papers. If you're one of the many people who have had to deal with her you will understand she is far from normal. The woman would not stop talking about her self. She asked my wife simple questions like, would you ever let the cat out? Would you be home all the time? You know, the basic questions. She went on about a story of how she owned her own business and how she got into a dispute with a Jehovah witness who was once an employee of hers. She explained to me the fundamentals of making pea soup and how strenuous it was to make a pot of this 'Fantastic' soup. Not to mention the importance of having it sit out side it the cold for 3 hours. It literally took up 45 minutes of my time. She also told me how she is not allowed at Pet smart in Dickson city due to the fact that she poked a child for petting some cats through the cages?! A few hours later that day she attempted to call the house phone and was unable to get through on the primary phone, the house phone. She called the secondary phone which is my cell phone and wouldn't get off the subject of why she couldn't reach me on the house phone. I explained to her how I was upstairs and couldn't hear the primary phone but that she can always call my cell phone, which I always have by me. Why do you think they ask for 2 phone numbers? Because just like me not everybody is in the same room as there home phone all the time. I didn't understand why she kept pressing the issue. She was telling me how it was suspicious and how she didn't trust us anymore. I said, if you are unable to reach me by the home phone provided just either leave a message or call the cell. She avoided the question explaining, ""It's very odd that your not picking up your house phone"". I told her I pick it up, there was just a few times where I'd miss your call. Tuesday was the day we were to pick the kitten up. I had work but my wife was going to go. My wife has colitis and it was acting up the night before and the morning of. My wife asked our son and our neighbor who was a reference if they could pick the cat up not knowing she had to sign for it and show I.D. Not a problem, the lady up there told our son and neighbor that the person who is adopting the cat has to be there. So the woman up there said they could come back the next day. My wife called Linda that day trying to explain why she couldn't come herself, Linda was not having it. She was very irate. Telling my wife she doesn't trust us and we will never get a cat from them again. Saying we are not getting our ""daughter"" over and over again. If this is how professionals handle business then I will take my business somewhere else. No one should have to deal with this stuff. I couldn't understand it, We are not criminals. I own a business and pay my taxes. It seems to be, at least to me that if you would like a cat from them you have to listen to there off topic nonsense and take there verbal abuse and not be sick or have a family emergency the day you are scheduled to pick up your cat because as said by Linda and staff before, ""cats are more important then children"". Bottom line is, the cats would have more homes and families if they were a lot more sensible and sympathetic towards present and future applicants. more

To the previous writer, maybe you should not open your mounth and critize before you know what you are talking about. First of all we are not THE SPCA,, we are Animal care a group of volunters who give of their own time, resources, and love to care for over 300 hundred animals. The building you were looking at was our storage shed the we keep the lawn equipment in . The shelter is the next building with the air conditioners and the cats in the windows. We do not cage our animals, so they live in a home not boxed up . Yes there are cat traps in the lot. they are there to trap the cats that peopole regularly dump. So before you are so quick to make nasty comment s maybe you should volunteer your time, to help an animal and channel all your negative energy to something positive! God Blees this organization for the personal sacrafices the volunteers make everyday to make this world a better place for theses animals!! Pros: EXCELLENT ORGANIZATION more

Is this a joke? I went to find this place, using my GPS, and came to a rundown HOUSE, not a building, with black silhouette cut-outs of a cat and a dog on the garage. The doors were boarded up and there were empty cat kennels strewn about the front porch. Pros: It warns you before even getting out of the car Cons: Everything, this is ridiculous. more
